I think the reason why he wants to charge GST is because he most likely had to pay GST when he had the miners delivered by DHL. Being an order over $1000 and him living in Ontario where the tax is around 13% thats a large set back. When the package crosses the border, Canada Customs charges tax on the value used to ship the goods.

My order from bitmains first batch s1 cost me $19 customs Grin

lol, My superjupiter was free because it was broken, just paid shipping.  Make a friend across border, deliver there, go pick up...cheaper.

As far as I know, only tariffs and customs fees are applied to imported products.

You only pay custom fees when you order from outside Canada. No taxes

If he reselling his stuff through a company of his own, that would force him to add the additional local taxes.

No your not.  I can order a machine or 3, ship to the states, then get shipped up here and pay no tax.  If I buy 3, its only 400 each.  If you get paid in bitcoins, you make a big profit, cavirtex is @ 272/ btc  2.15 = $584 x 3=1754 and spond is only 1195.  And on top of this, you prob are mining with them!  Safer to buy directly from manufacturer!  And you want to charge me GST and PST on used shit!

1. Yes, if you buy in bulk, you will have a better price from Spondoolies than my reseller price. That's how it works genius.

2. If your time is so worthless that you can afford to travel back and forth the border and make a false declaration to save 5% GST on a 440 USD product, I can't argue with that and I find it quite sad.

3. You can't compare a price in CAD with a price in USD without making the conversion..? Hello Genius?

The reason I charge GST/QST is that I have tax numbers and it's mandatory to charge taxes on taxable products!

Even if the miners would have magically appeared in my backyard, I would have to charge taxes!

I took the plunge and purchased a SP20 from Maxime. All and all it was a good experience.

He was going to send it regular Canada Post to me in western Canada and I asked if he could change the shipping to get it to me faster. To make a long story short I ordered it from him last weekend and received it today. He even refunded me $40 USD because he got the shipping cheaper then originally thought.

Maxime did tell me he tested the unit and upon inspection when it arrived in the original box it looked fairly new to me.

Yes you can order one direct or if you can save a lot of hassle like I did and just have one shipped across Canada for about the same price.

I just started hashing and I suppose time will tell if I made the right decision or not. Will update if something changes.
