After talking to the creator of www.hampture.blogspot.com, hes allowed me to handle his bitcoin donations until he has more time to set up a proper wallet/donation address/whatever. Hampture is an underwater habitat for hamsters, which you can watch livestreamed here - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/madsci9001Anyway, the donations are used to buy more materials/fish/hamsters/food and fake coral or whatever. Right now though, he's in need of 300$ to create the spacehams skylab, a floating airbase occupied by a handful of brave hamsternauts. You can learn more about spacehams here - http://spacehams.blogspot.com/Anyway, if you want to help out, you can throw all your money here - 1Emw66h9PB1bZkZM2zBnnqGD8FtER5b2tBProtip: All the underwater habitats are tested before hamsters occupy them, and operate under positive pressure, meaning it is impossible for water to flow inside. The hampods are supplied with air 24/7, and have a 14 hour backup battery for safety. These coins will be kept until either he has time to set up a bitcoin wallet, or until he lets me know of something that can be donated that I could purchase with bitcoins for him. As always, you can donate directly to him on his blogspot via paypal.

Not for scuba diving, for a completely self sustaining hamster colony on the sea floor, or in this case, lake floor and aquarium floor.

From the desc on youtube: When operated in 1atm mode, max safe depth would probably be around 100 feet, although in the portable aquasphere configuration (two domes, instead of one dome and one flat/legged base) it's intended to be carried along during a scuba dive and would be operated at ambient pressure, supplied with air from a pony bottle and heated as in the video with a nontoxic chemical handwarmer ("lil hotties").

Yeah, but the ones he has built now are stationary, and that is hilarious, oh man

I have to admit, there is something fascinating about this project. "FOR SCIENCE!"
I don't see the point in having multiple disconnected tiny habitats under water, though. I remember when I was a kid, that was my obsession, giving the (ungrateful) gerbils and hamsters a huge labyrinth of tunnels, cages, and tanks to roam about in. I built those little bastards cardboard/wood castles. Of course they just chewed everything to tiny pieces immediately, and moved onto eating holes through the habitrails ASAP.
This guy needs pressurized tunnels!

Instead of hamsters, you should use naked mole rats! Why, you ask? Because they can live up to 28 years, can't get cancer, don't age and is immune to hot sauce. That's why!

This is exactly the kind of absurdity that can go absolutely viral on the internet, attracting millions of eyeballs. Perhaps the bitcoin community should buy the rights to this venture for X amount. Funds to be used to put a luxury hamster habitat into the upper atmosphere. If and when it becomes a viral internet sensation 'powered by bitcoin' logos appear in the highly visible areas. Fans are informed that they can help fund future missions by donating bitcoins to this very worthy scientific cause.
