The Seattle high school teacher and social justice activist filed the $500,000 suit that alleges the officer in a viral video taken of the assault, had unlawfully discharged pepper-spray in his face.

He has every right to sue them, he did nothing wrong and its clear how that "policewoman-trololol" flipped out.

If the 'victim' understands his awarded $$$ could be donated to causes he believes deeply withing his community directly (the tax payers), causes that could impact people positively for generations then that would be great. If only 'part' of the $$$ goes to some groups and organisations but the rest is for shopping and airline tickets, then...

They may as well just set up a perimeter of automatic sprinklers hooked up to motion sensors or better yet just have them spraying pepper spray 24/7.

I'm fairly certain recruiters specifically look for these types of people and ask them, "Are you abusive or live in constant fear? Ever think of becoming a police officer?"

Defective affidavits, hearsay as evidence and no stated damages are but a few elements that rob the court of subject matter jurisdiction (at last count there are 22 elements that deprive the court of SMJ). Some of the elements are: denial of due process, denial of meaningful access to court, fraud upon the court, and fraud upon the court by the court.

EDIT: Let me add that an affidavit is nothing, until someone gets on the stand and reads it into the record. Anyone who bases things on an affidavit outside of a court can be sued.

I don't know about $500,000 but certainly a random pedestrian who gets hit with pepper spray should be compensated? If you (assuming you aren't a cop) pepper sprayed someone randomly, you'd definitely be paying them damages.
