I have a gigabyte 5870 for sale. It is a month old with two years of warranty. It has the two fan style cooler. I am selling it for 200$ + shipping. Clearcoin can be used to escrow the funds if you want. I have a decent rating on OTC under this same name.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

What kind of hashing performance were you getting with that specific card?

Still for sale. Not a reference design but I was getting 400 with 940/300 clocks. This was with older miners so you may see improvement. I can't mine at the moment hence selling and outdated info.

pool speed is calculated by the shares that you have submitted. that's why i sometimes get 600 MH/s on the pool site, but only 400 MH/s in the miner
