So I sent some btc to an address over 24 hrs ago and it's still stuck. I see the square symbol in Multibit, like one peer saw it, I tried to reset transactions/blockchain it didn't work. Yeah my connection is kind of slow. Anyway, it took all day to sync and everything is the same. There's a few cents sitting in the wallet I sent from, just like it was. What can I do now? I just need to kill the transaction and start over, but how? -Thanks

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Try closing the client and restarting it.
Also check the blockchain, if it actually went through. If nothing works, close the wallet and import the private keys into a new wallet. That will load the balance back

No it was never recorded on blockchain. Ok, I've tried importing from every sub-folder in the wallet, the error is "could not read import file".

How many wallets you have opened in there at the same time? It happened to me before when I have multiple wallets and one of it have problem trying to sync. What you can do is click on "File" menu followed by "Close Wallet". After that click "Open Wallet" to load it again. Hope that helps.

Try blockchian.com to check your transaction.

Yeah had several open, closing them helped it sync fast, and now all Multibit shows is the receiving of the btc from Circle, before I tried sending it to a different address.  The failed transaction is cleared out. But the wallet for it is still empty though. The Multibit folder for key-backup is empty too, that's probably why it can't find it, huh?

If closing and reopening multibit does not solve the problem and the transaction does not show up on any block explorer then you should probably "reset the blockchain and transactions" on the wallet in question. This should allow multibit to reset itself for the address that it thinks sent the transaction and should correctly reflect the "balance" in your wallet.

It should be noted that you may need to do this two or three times for it to "work"

if closing and opening Multibit doesn't work it might be beacuse your wallet file is corrupted.
also check on an online block explorer like blockchain.info to see what is going on with the tx
you can also post your problem in alternative clients, multibit section

Reset it 3-4 times, nothing. Like I said, the key-backup file folder is Empty, so that can't be good. I wish there was some way customer support could step in to help, but I don't see it happening. I really don't know what else I can do on my own here.

Ok, I figured it out. Didn't realize I could still export the keys to make a new wallet, figured it was too late for that, but when I decided just to try it, basically expecting failure once more, my balance showed up again in the new wallet. Strange thing is, the few cents that were left over are now duplicated in both wallets...anyway, I sent it over where I needed it to go this time no problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction at least!

I had the same problem. Restart the computer and reset the blockchain to a day or so before.
