why my card always crash after 48 hours? i have been trying many various clocks with it and always after two days both cores are crashed

probably the vddc's
get gpu-z to monitor temperatures, if the vddc's hit ~120*C the clocks reset or it crashes
try 790 core, 244 mem, stock voltage, 80%-100% fan speed
i use 875 core 244 mem 1.1v 100% fan and my vddc's sit on 110*C (22*C+ ambient temps)

>.> Interesting signature lol

i use max. 1.00 volts and 725-775core and 200mem.. must check that vddc temp.

are there other reasons why it keep crashing?

I am pretty sure stock voltage is 1.05v, and mine don't like anything below 244 mem (what worksize do you use? I have heard for lower mem clocks you use lower worksize, I have never tried, 256ws with 244 mem works for me)

i never set the worksize in cgminer because i don fully undestand what is it   Undecided

i only set the clocks in msiAB and set intensity to 7 in cgminer

Not all GPU's are equal. You might be able to get 745 core using 0.95v, but only 730 @ 1v on another core. You probably have clocks set too high. Find out which gpu is crashing and reduce clocks by 5 MHz. If it happens again, reduce by another 5 and so on. If you get to the point of a really low clock, like 670, try increasing voltage to 1v and core to 750 and repeat the process. It's what I do. It -may- cause you to lose a little mining time, but at least you can find out the max your GPU's can tolerate.

Also optimum worksize for 5xxx cards (assuming it uses phatk kernel) is usually dependant on memory speed. 128 worksize is optimum with 150-220 memory (depending on core speed. Higher core = higher memory. 700 core is optimum with about 150 memory, 1050 core is optimum with about 220 memory). 256 worksize has optimum memory ranges around 300-380 (also reliant on core speeds. lower core = lower memory, higher core = higher memory). It takes some experimenting to find out the optimum combo.

Generally speaking, I found that hashrate is directly proportional to core speed * shaders. I get 228.7 mhash on a 5830 @ 700 MHz. 5830 has 1120 shaders, so I get 0.0002917 mhash/sec per shader per MHz. Using that math, you should get about 338.4 mhash on a single 5970 core @ 725MHz

i have some 5970 refs that i run at 150mem without any problems,  yeah, the default performance level 3 voltage for stock cards is 1.05

now i have done some tests with 0.975v 725core 150mem.

if monitor are connected to gpu, it is stable. but if not, it crashes extractly after 48-50h

what the fu ??!
edit. teps are not the problem

do i really need dummyblug ?

not with win7, cant really suggest anything else, I use 2.4sdk on my duel 5970 with vista, running sweet. maybe a driver change? don't know really?

EDIT - on thinking about your prob I had something simaler with diff cards/os, A while back, I found it to be msiAB, I now use saphire TRIXX never had a problem since.

Sounds to me like it could be a memory leak in the program.  If it's always after a specific amount of time and that long, then it's most likely software based.

If its just the driver crash or gpu gone dead.... but system is stable...
Ive written an autoit script that restarts cgminer every x minutes
It also checks every 30 seconds to make sure cgminer is running, if not it starts it up.

I use it on my realy unreliable rig which has 3x5850's and the one 5850 is horrible, goes dead, actually think its a mobo issue now, but either way...
it goes dead anywhere from an hour to 4hrs of mining despite clocks & temps..
So, I have the script restart cgminer every hour =P
