Im new to mining bitcoins and have recently noticed something with my setup. I have a 4850 and a 5850 running on the same motherboard. The 5850 is plugged into the pcie slot and the 4850 is using a 1x to 16x cable, running BAMT. I noticed today that the 5850 had 4000 or so accepted shares and the 4850 had 12 with 0 invalids. I know there is a speed difference between the two cards but it cant be that much different... The 4850 gets about 90MH/s while the 5850 is getting about 375MH/s. The load on both cards is 98%+ and the temps are just shy of 70c.

I restarted the machine a few times but it doesnt seem to help, any ideas?

I'm not even sure that 4xxx cards can even mine effectively. I mean you can play around with settings and whatnot, but I don't know...

Also are you -sure- your 4850 is under load? It might've crashed and the driver had to reset. Usually when this happens, the card will still show a full load on it, but it won't actually be doing anything until you re-apply a load and then remove it.

Double check that you aren't actually cpu mining too.

Yeah, the 4850 just pays for itself, but I dont care, I just want to play around with it for now...

The heatsinks and all are warm on it so I assume its under load. The cpu is not mining. I also noticed that on BAMT it will show 0 or only a few invalid shares but on my pool, bitclockers it shows like 50%! I also noticed that for some reason the web dashboard on BAMT will reset the share count back to 0 for the 4850 which might be the reason for the low count. When I started typing this it was at 6 and now its at 0...

Last night I reduced the overclock to the stock settings but that didnt seem to help. Today Im going to shutdown the 4850 just to make sure its not a problem with both cards.

Try mining with different new workers for each card. Use a pool that stores your total submitted shares and mine for a week of so. Compare the ratio of shares submitted for the two workers - it should be around 1:4 for 4850:5850.
