Modify tools:
    1.Four air-cooled Antminer S5(One water-cooled S5 equals to four air-cooled S5).
    2.Syscooling S5 modified kit,including case,fans and fan covers,waterblocks,screws and so on.
    3. Electric soldering iron(to extend cables).
    4.Screw drivers,pliers,and so on.
    5.Silicone grease(spare).
First, take down hash boards and controllers from air-cooled S5.If silicone grease on boards is not enough, daub silicone on it.Put heat conducting paste beside black chip.

Next, screw board on the waterblock.Choose original screws as first choice,if disabled, use black screws we prepared for you.Attention:1.Direction.The side with screw holes of waterblock is bottom,to fasten waterblock on case. The side with PCIe port of hash board is top.2.After you tighten screws, you should observe the gap between board and waterblock, every screw should be tightened equally.

Screw other boards as the same.

Here I just modify 2 air-cooled S5 as an example.Next install controllers. Now hardware has been updated,1 controller could support 4 hash boards. But we know that some users’ hardware haven’t updated,so when we design the case,we prepared positions for four controllers.Normally one water-cooled S5 only need two controllers.

Then cut and choose a suitable tubing to connect two waterblocks, and tighten with hose clamps. And screw waterblocks on bottom case.

Install back case, and tighten with screw.

Install front case as the same.

    Install fans and fan covers,case installation is finished.Next extend cables.One water-cooled S5 need 8 cables,you will need 2 original cables(default length,about 8cm),and 6 cables of 16cm,which need you to extend it.Cut off cables.

Cut heat-shrinkable tube into 2cm,wear it on cables, and weld it with the cables we prepared for you.

After welding, put heat-shrinkable tube on appropriate position, and fire it to make it shrink. This is extended cable.

Connect controllers and boards with cables, and you could test it.Equip it with watercooling kits(1 water-cooled S5 is recommend 2 Syscooling SC-BC1 kits, and each radiator must be installed six fans),power it on with PSU,plug net wire into Enthernet port, and let it run to test whether all indexes are fine.

If it is fine, install top case, and the whole installtion is finished.About power supply for watercooling kits, each controller has two 3pin port, and each SC-BC1 watercooling kit has fan wiring harness, fans of the miner and fan wiring harness could be plugged into controllers to get power.

Yesterday  I received the S5 Modified Kit from syscooling.

You can see pictures of the housing here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=914354.msg10371212#msg10371212

The bigger question is, why it was necessary to do so

Unfortunately, the upper cover is done incorrectly and corrected the error with disc cutter.

Oh,nobody send you emails to explain that?As you said,we designed five cases for first batch, but the size of top case are all incorrect, and we have to cut it by hand.Size has been corrected, and we received the correct cases now,but when you ordered they hadn't arrive,so we sent you that kit.Sorry about that.

Guys, i think you overdid it. it should have been an c2 with 4blades and 1bbb not 2*c2 Undecided
still thinking of buying 2 s5 and modifying them in 1 c2 and make an air cooled c1 with the rest parts

They have not logged in since:     March 21, 2015, 09:35:43 AM

I think they kinda gave up.  Honestly they are not that great of a company in my opinion.  They managed to kill many many pumps dry testing and shipping them out after.  One pump took a month to come on replacement other was over a month.  So obviously I had to buy more parts myself. (this was on C1's).

If you have any chance to cancel order I personally would try.

Welcome to the club.

I recommend the purchase of this pump

http://shop.syscooling.com/goods.php?id=26  or

buying this kit  http://shop.syscooling.com/goods.php?id=46

Unfortunately, the radiator is too small. I use only  3 x S5  (6 blade )  with this radiator, But I have it in a room with 30 degrees Celsius and and not with the original fans.   I is attached to the housing 2 x 14cm quiet Fans.

However, it is the quietest 3,4 TH/s miner. Much quieter than KNC 3,3 TH/s Neptune.

If you want to use a single controller by more than 3 blades,  you also need software

Software you get here www.perearstike.ee/S5/softold/SD-S5-20150107.tar.gz

It works 100% with 3 or 4 blade.

Thank you,

I went with the SC-BC2 kit, was hoping it could really get rid of 3,5 kw like it was advertised.

I also got a used c1 from ebay, so for now i have enough for my 4 s5's

Was planning on getting at least 2 more s5's and making watercooled miners out of them.

Your topics inspered me to do so Grin

It would depend but if you have a good pump and good radiator setup you should be able to OC more.  As far as how much it's hard to say.

Some things such as ambiant temp will also come into play.
