Why should monetizing it be any different from a normal website?

with Tor there is no way to distinguish where each user is from, and no way to distinguish if the traffic is legit or not.

And advertise what? There is not much  hidden stores since silk road was down.

Maybe referral for hidden services hosting?

That's genius! I'll provide a hidden service on a hidden service where nobody will know I exist. I'll make millions. And, I'll do it from the comforts of my local library to boot.

how can i make money on a tor relay??

well they say the deep or dark net is 5 times bigger thn the clear web so 5 times more opportunity to make money

you got a point with saying noone knows where you from in the Tor network so ads based on your search preferences and locally arent valid ways to search

but hey there most be other ways to make an income

1 way I already use is asking dark net vendors for samples than i do advertising for them on a different site

but there most be a way to make big bucks

You won't make money for impressions & clicks.
But you still can get $$$ for selling things.
So PPA -> Pay Per Action should work, with restriction that action = payment, preferably via Bitcoin  Cool

You could earn money by advertising on dark web search engines like Torch or dw boards for other hidden services which are willing to pay you for doing that. But I think it's very hard to find someone who is willing to do that Wink
