I am willing to offer escrow for this tournament in order to increase the odds of this happening. I am a chess fan myself, and this seems like fun, but seeing that you are of the "newbie" status, people will most likely not trust you. I am offering to hold the funds of this tournament, without releasing any payments until it is publicity determined who is the winner. I would then send the prize money, and then the 24$ to you (minus $1 escrow fee).

To discuss, please reply to this post directly (to remain public)

I would definitely do that. I can understand that not everyone trusts me. I will probably have everyone send money to you when the tournament starts. Bitcoin address and e-mail?

I'm not actually familiar with that. What is 'turn $100 bitcoin into the life of a millionare.'? Distrust comes with being a newbie. People who e-mail me can see detailed info of how the whole chess tournament works.

Only way I can see you avoiding chess computer cheating is by playing a chess variant. Such as swapping the knight and bishop around at the start of the game.
Though I expect people would still be able to adjust the chess engine to do these changes.

I am preventing chess computer cheating by observing behaviors during the game. It is harder than you think to cheat. En.lichess.org also does a lot to prevent cheating. This is where the games will be played. It is against website rules to cheat, and if you are caught, your account will be banned.

I'll pass OP, I play on chess.com a lot and no matter what you do people are going to cheat on on-line tournaments.

Seems like fun, but there are a lot of chess bots out there right now. If there were truly preventive measures to prevent a 'flawless strategy', what would be the response by OP if the 'cheater' is actually a chess prodigy? Sure, the human mind can only fathom so many combinations... Let's take my question as a 'what if'.  Smiley

Ok, So I join up... use one of these handheld chess games, and simulate the game being played against AI and duplicate the moves?

You will have to stream these games via video, to filter out the cheaters. People tend to up their cheat game, when money is involved.  Wink

Still no one has contacted me about participating. 8 Slots are open, and everyone is welcome. The site I am using makes it impossible to cheat. If your moves look like a bot's moves, you will be disqualified. Please e-mail me if you would like to participate! ericpfdz@gmail.com

Guys, it's basically impossible to use a bot on en.lichess.org They can pick up behaviors that are common in bots and ban cheaters. I made a chat room so we all can talk about this.

we'll thing is you don't actually need a bot, just a 3rd party help program. whenever you're stuck o na move just type in the board layout and you'll get the best move handed to you.
