It seems that Bitstamp has problems with its USD bank account. They no longer receive USD. All the USD payments are locked for now.

The article says Bitstamp has a temporary fix of using a different intermediary bank for wire transfers.

They've been having really bad luck, unfortunately. Hope they find a new banking partner fast. Unfortunately all of them seem to be dissing Bitcoin, as they're probably all afraid of the technology...

This is not the same as Gox and they claim to have an alternate bank, so give them a few days before screaming for people to sell when they should be buying BTC at discount prices.
All liar trolls will eventually burn in Hell.

BTC bull scammers practically own hell Sad

I didn´t say a word about selling. But that´s probably just your usual butthurt bull paranoia...

I just recommend to get out there via USD or BTC as long as it is possible, whatever...

Don´t ignore the warning signs.

1. Hacked and robbed
2. Banking problems
3. Weird trading activity

What, banks randomly blocking USD transfers? Seems like USD is in big trouble. Or worse: USD IS HACKED!! Better panic sell all my dollars!

This is an attack, I doubt this is Bitstamps fault but a shoddy attempt by the banking system to shut their operations down, I hope they get through it okay.

Banks are probably starting to ban Bitstamp coz they "know".
Remember how it started with Gox, when "Dwolla" stepped out, and over the following months one bank after another stopped cooperating with them.
Warning signs!

I think the same.

I wouldn't want to be in the Bitstamp's client skin now...

If solvency is your concern I would pay more attention to the withdraw side.

Not true.  People get fucked, then they get fucked again.  It is like lambs going to slaughter.  They never learn.  Nearly everyone will be sitting there thinking: 'this time, everything will be OK  -  right?'  And the next moment all their money is gone.  Don't you remember how many warnings there were for Gox?  Nobody moved.
