You can now use your Asic to hash for BitcoinUtopia Boinc project and the BTCUtopia credits will count towards mining Gridcoin!

This is a perfect use for old USB ASICs if you have any sitting around. I just gave my collection a second life - even my old BFL Little Single.

The first ppl with large ASICs that realize the opportunity to earn GRC for their BOINC work they already do, will get damn rich Smiley

Does this gridcoin team do anything fun, like participate in challenges? Or is it just grinding out gridcoin?

Not sure that is true. Will see. From what I've read in the faq, I'm being compared to other BU users. My 1 rockminer is kind of small fry to the people who have dozens.

Welcome to GRC, bones261. You sure hit the leaderboard with a splash. Well done!

GRC entered some WCG challenges in the early days (as I remember it), but I think the challenge-team leader then (a user who offered his services) was accused of running bot farms or some such and left in a huff. I never saw any details about the underlying truth.

Going still from memory - Team Gridcoin has never entered any BOINC challenges (just WCG challenges early on).

There is some rather polarized discussion about the evolution of the team's role here: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/29841-discussion-boinc-whitelist-monitoring/

You joined at "an interesting time".

Just watched the movie "The Imitation Game", now I understand your avatar. Man, if it wasn't for Turing we would not be chatting right now on bitcointalk.

Thanks, traderman. Turing is one of my heroes. Allegedly, WW II would have ended differently without his efforts also. The queen of England made an official apology last year on behalf of her government - dreadfully sorry we hounded you to suicide, and all that. Won't happen again!

Call me cynical.    Wink

Anyway, GRC Research has hit the exchanges for the first time today (c-cex up and running, others in the hopper). Good time to be in crypto, and I think we may have Turing to thank for that also, at least as a distal cause.

Welcome Bones,
glad to have you here, team Gridcoin is still around 2000 individuals, so you are an early adopter in this growing ecosystem! Smiley
