I think to reach BTC levels, a new coin would have to be tied to some real-world use well away from this speculative cesspit.

That would mean it would need to be adopted by a large, existing community with an incentive to take it on. That could mean a game, or an app or whatever.

This indeed is what needed for mass acceptance too. Also, no one likes to pay to middleman and crypto currency is perfect solution for that, not to mention the blunder these banker does with your money in their bank.

Not as high as bitcoin, but I'm pretty positive at least one will reach around the $700-$800 million market cap within a couple years.

Making successful investment decisions based on answers you get on this board would be too easy!
Do your own research into all innovative Bitcoin 2.0 project. A good indicator (aside from substantial technological innovation) is if the developers are out there with their real identities.

Yeah, since cryptos are usually anonymous, real identities on new coins give you at least some hope that it won't be another scam.
