I've rented a Range Rover in Milan last month via
https://lurento.com. You can pay for rent in BTC, the exchange rate is OK
But keep in mind!!!! No matter how you pay a credit card is required
for excess/deductible (authorization).
Yes I know I'm quoting a 2 year old reply and the author will probably never see this.
But I just checked out Lurento's website and I'm pretty impressed with their lineup. They don't lease to North America or UK but they have a short list of cities they can lease cars too.
Paris, Frankfurt, Athens, Nice, Florence, Milan, Zurich, Geneva, Barcelona, Naples, Vienna, Monaco, Rome, Berlin, Lisbon, Munich, Marbella, Malaga and Dubai are all destinations they lease to. They're all beautiful cities too, who can argue with that
too bad I don't live in any of them.
Their rates are pretty decent too, I can rent a Ferrari 488 Spider 3.9 V8 for €548/day. A Mercedes-Benz A-Class goes for €80/day. Their blog is not lively, and I don't think it ever was, but still kicking two years later.
I think the issue in starting a car rental operation in North America and UK is that you have to import a fleet of luxury cars from factories in continental Europe and I imagine that it's expensive. I mean you can't just drive the things over to the garage, they have to be transported overseas too so that limits the number of cars they can import for budget reasons. I imagine bitcoin volatility doesn't make this any better but fortunately we've been rather stable for the past few weeks.
We need more car rental ops like Lurento. Not a paid post or anything just my honest opinion
