...and now there are all these damn alter-coin things.

Any of them worth notice, and if so, why ?

Because there seems to be a metric ton of back-and-forth chatter, and asking a direct question is a simple and straightforward way of getting started.

I think if you just peak your head out in the forum.  You'll see what's been the focus of everyone's attention.  It's pretty obvious.

You mean BTCX persona ? Wink

And if you imply litecoin, I just don't get it.

The only thing it does differently is CPU-focused mining, and it appears that there are GPU mining thingies for it already, rendering the whole affair...pointless...

Doesn't matter if you get it or not.  You asked and I told you.  It is happening.

Well, it does seem like an odd answer.

I could see some arguable benefit in litecoin if it was indeed GPU proof (and for that matter, FPGA-proof), but it seems that the case for its GPU-proofness is not bullteproof Wink

passerby regardless of what you think the market has spoken (check ltc price the last few months since reaper was released). it would be wise to take notice..

That is hardly a convincing argument.

That solid-coin toy that seems to be mentioned in many posts here seems to have died by now has held a fairly decent market activity for what, a year  or so ?
