I have been browsing the internet and various forums for a little while now and have been having a hard time to find a clear answer. I am trying to make sure I am calculating this right.

If a miner uses .62w per GH/s and it is a 1000 GH/s miner then the unit is using 620w of energy an hour? Or .62kw/h?

Again I am looking for clarification and appreciate any and all help

Yes 620 watts is the same as 0.62 kilowatts.

But while technically accurate it is confusing to say "620w of energy an hour".  It is better to simply say the unit is using 620W.

Watts measure power, while energy is the total amount of power used.  The total amount of electrical energy used is usually written in units of kilowatts (power) multiplied by hours.  This is normally written as kWh.

You could then say that over an hour the unit uses 0.82 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy.   Or over a day the unit used 24*0.62 kWh of electrical energy.

In summary units such as kw/h are not meaningful and should be avoided.  Just use watts (W or kW) for power drawn and kilowatts hours (kWh) for total energy used.
