ArtsyCoin Coin Icon Challenge Announcement

ArtsyCoin the crypotocurrency for artistry needs a new icon and we are turning to the community for help.

The above image is the current temporary placeholder icon for ArtsyCoin. It is intentionally terrible because we know there are many talented artists out there who can do an amazing job at bringing the ArtsyCoin icon to life.

This is a design contest for the icon that will represent ArtsyCoin. This icon will be used in future updates of the wallet in addition to being used in all online and offline campaigns.

In addition to being used as the official graphic representation of ArtsyCoin there are prizes to be won:

50,000 ArtsyCoins 250,000 ArtsyCoins
One Million Satoshis
One Pair of deviantArt Llama Sunglasses (or equivalent dA points)
Credit on the ArtsyCoin website and promotion through our social media network as the creator of the coin icon design

Free dA llamas for all participants who have an account on Deviant Art (just post or PM your user name)

More prizes to be added as we finalize some merchant partnerships. If you would like to donate prizes in exchange for promotion feel free to contact me. No substitutions on prizes.

The submission deadline is March 10th, 2015. Extended to Midnight EST, March 20th, 2015

The final icon choice is solely up to the developers of ArtsyCoin. The winning entry must be licensed for open use by the community.

The winner will be selected on or before March 15, 2015 and announced here as well as on Deviant Art and the ArtsyCoin website.

In the event of limited entries or an insufficient quantity of appropriate entries the contest deadline may be extended.

these are quite nice

i have the idea (but am lacking in the skillz) to have the outside circle as a brush stroke comnig from the brush.
possibly having part of the A also as the brush stroke with the brush forming the complete A

The coin is meant to be ArtsyCoin right ?

The logo looks like a Pump & Dump Graph with a fizzle out down the bottom (Yes I know it is a paintbrush but that's what I see with this logo)

Please accept these 3 coins as submission to your competition. I find it a bit odd that despite the huge premine on this coin there is an insulting amount of 50K BSY being given away... This is the reason why there is such a huge lack of interest in this giveaway by your community and the BitcoinTalk public.

From what it looks like in that thread the original artist has made a template available for others to use in their coin art designs. If that template could not be used openly then the entry would not qualify. Although this may have an impact on originality, the entries appear to still be valid within the rules since the artwork needs to be licensed for use openly.

Of course if the creator of the original template does not agree to his template being used this way then we will make adjustments accordingly.

The template was used based on the open license by the creator, the artwork within the coin is original. I think I've had it this this community.

lol no need to take it personally. it seemed like a legitimate call, albeit an incorrect one.
and, logocreator only seems here for the logo.

pull what you feel you need to, if no-one is making use of your faucet/pool etc then they are not needed at the moment.

i'm pretty noob at this. haha. my particular aesthetic is generally fairly simplistic or overly complicated, and as a non-graphical artist simple is easier.
i'm just throwing ideas in hopefully to stimulate something interesting.

The primary reward for this contest is bragging rights and promotion (but let's not underplay the llama sunglasses either).

It looks like you may need to change the logo but we'll know soon if that is the case.

I would suggest removing the Banksy art since we are going with a new more general name now. If people could add their own artwork like you mention that would be the best

so what's the current situation? i've been out of touch for a bit. so i missed all the hubbub . lol .

if none of the current entries are good enough, just re-open the competition. don't get caught in a mess because of lack of quality entries

tbh i see some promising ideas. i dont see any problems with getting any ones of interest developed further ..
