http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/cointellect-freezes-all-withdrawal-methods-changes-contract-payouts-overnight

Cointellect remains a cloud mining company surround in mystery, complaints from customers and multiple questions regarding their contract payout structure that seem to remain unanswered for the time being. Late last night, their team posted a new update in regards to the freezing of all withdrawals and the immediate change of contract’s earnings to reflect the current Bitcoin price.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I guess whether an individual cloud mining company is a ponzi or legit doesn't really matter when they can still just decide to freeze payouts because of the fluctuation price. If there is any truth to them being a legit mining operation bitcoin almost makes them like a ponzi anyway if it crashes as there's not enough money to pay out and thus investors are robbed.
