I agree with the banning. Isn't it proven to be a scam?
It's indeed getting ridiculous. One even had ponzi in his name, and still got people scammed!

Yes, but the staff members don't ban the scammers (it is not against the rules).

I think ponzi should have it's section, but there are special rules in that section : 1. Only member rank or better can access & reply in ponzi section 2. Only full member rank or better can make a thread 3. Make a sticky thread about ponzi & the risks
I'm sure this will be effective

Instead of making a ponzi section , there should be some kind of report as ponzi or whatever , and mods could just delete the thread i dont see why a ponzi section would be neccesary.
The problem is : the various ponzi schemes are not against the forum rules, why do you think the staff members should delete them ? Maybe change the forum rules then ? i hate seeing people getting scammed from these ponzi schemes , and there's no reason at all not to remove them.

The problem what I think is 'if we start removing ponzis, we will have to remove so-called-cloud-mining'. If we start removing cloud mining, we will have to investigate on each and every companies which is hard IMHO. So its better to be untouched. Ponzi sub-forum can't be added but atleast a red warning in 'Games and Rounds' like in 'Long-term offers' about the risks would be helpful. -MZ

Ponzis seem to slow down for a day or two and then they overwhelm the section again with a new kind of ponzi. There are more than ever in the Gambling section right now.
Wasn't Theymos thinking of adding a "hyip section"?

This is ridiculous! Look at all these fucking scamming ponzi sites. They need their own section of the forum and anyone who wants to 'invest' in them can mull them all over and choose. All genuine gambling sites just get flooded out.
I agree and just add a red warning "use these sites at your own risk, only invest what you can lose" then people can "gamble" if they wish and others will be safer. Also maybe sticky a guide to spot out right scams and teach people about how they work (launch, build trust, then close and the trick is finding one that last more than a few days)

We should ban everything related to ponzi, I cant believe people are still being tricked into doubling their coins.
It is a straight scam ran by a few dif guys over and over and they get a few of you each time.
There is a 90% chance you will never see your coins again.

Many play because they think they can get out before they are scammed. Doubt it will go well for most but it's their choice. I've got nothing against creating a ponzi section, but banning it all is harder to do. As others said if ponzies are banned then we have to ban cloud mining, etc.

Promoters/early investors don't look 'how it is for others?', they want to earn some BTCBTCBTC through referrals. Glady, almost all of the ponzis in this forum don't have referring system. I've got nothing against creating a ponzi section,
Creating a 'Ponzi' sub-board means we are encouraging Ponzi and I am fully agains it. Gambling section fits for ponzis. but banning it all is harder to do. As others said if ponzies are banned then we have to ban cloud mining, etc.
You are probably right! But we can ban cloud mining with no proof of mining(mining-farm, mined blocks etc..) easily. -MZ

i agree for Ponzi section/subsection here in the forum, but they must have a pinned post explaining what is a ponzi so that new users can keep away themselves from the risk of ponzi

- Being a part of ponzi related thread, site or activity you are both victim and a scammer yourself, since all ponzi's are a scam, and you are hoping to "earn" other peoples money.
- If you are joining anyway, you here agree not to cry and whine when you loose your bitcoins/rent moey/babys college fund etc.
hope this helps anyone misguided about the issue. cheers

If you are user of this forum and you seek to invest some money in it I would assume that you have some really basic knowledge of economy. But I guess warning people over and over again could help. Also Ponzi only subforum is a must in my humble opinion. There are too many ponzis running around lately they need to be caged there.

I think to solve the ponzi problem as well as the hyip problem we should have a ponzi/hyip program section under gambing. They generally are the same thing and better to keep it out of the gambling section

They were in the regular gambling section. They were spamming up the gambling section so much that there have been 5+ threads in meta complaining about all the ponzi spam in gambling. Hell, even now more then 50% of the first page in gambling is threads by moderators saying they moved the ponzi threads to the ponzi section. This means that the ponzis are not going to spam the gambling section where people want to go to have fun and be able to play games that are actually fair
