There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Oh just read about it. I am sure BTER would have/be looking for an alternative for that. Have you messaged support and asked about it ?

Support always answers something vague like they working on it

That's just what I'd love to do  Cheesy, but I have $ on BTER and they stopped trading USD/BTC, it is not possible to change $ to bitcoin, that´s the problem.
This matter must relate to a lot of people. I'm surprised that it still nobody cares.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know they have stopped trade on all the USD markets. I just checked coinmarketcap and it seems the BTC/CNY market is still trading. It shows the BTC/CNY volume as $ 37,457 today, so they must have a large amount of dollars locked if the BTC/USD market is comparable.

bter has a high trustability log, I would not say they are scam, this must be a confusing situation

I have lost bits of BTC with them. Have a look at the forums, it has scammed many.

I think its temporary , because of it being related to EGOpay being hacked. They might be looking for an alternative, but in the mean time, they should open BTC/USD and not block USD like that.

Seems BTC/CNY market is open on BTC. Best thiong would be to trade on that.  But you will have to check if the USD/CNY is open as well.

Withdrawal USD from Bter? It could be complex.
You can buy Bitcoin with your dollars then send the coins to the coinbase or Bitstamp and turn them into dollars and withdrawal.
