Tomorrow I will post the private key for a wallet holding 10 BTC.
Then, I will check the balance after ten days.
That will tell me if this is a community I want to be a part of.
This is pointless exercise. It is well known that there are sharks, con artists and thieves leaching off this community just like within every other community worldwide. Having faith that 100% of a community has good intentions is naive and defeats one of the central principles that bitcoin exists in the first place ... to protect yourself from institutionalized and petty theft through strong cryptography. Just because bitcoin allows you the freedom to and hand a bunch of sharks some cash doesn't mean you should. |

Your going to judge a large community like BCT based on an individual who steals 10 BitCoin. If you wanna do trust over the whole community on BCT head over to the market place and do some trading there. If you get robbed a lot, than this aint the community that can be trusted. But many people have had successful trades there so I wouldn't think it would happen.

Whether your bitcoin is still there or not after 10 days how will that help to tell you whether this community is where you wanna be. What's the logic behind it?
Thought that would be obvious, if it's gone he's surrounded by thief's. No need for the test the chances are high you are surrounded by them  |

why dont you leave your wallet on a public bench for 10 days and see what will happen?
Maybe I will. If the wallet on the public bench holds more money after ten days, I'll know it's a good community. don't leave a wallet. just leave a stack of $100 bills equating to 10 btc. see how it goes then in your disney land private and gated community. |

I'd argue that it's not theft to sweep funds on private keys which are intentionally revealed to the public. ... This. Intentional revealing public key is nothing but the giveaway. Picking up those BTC wouldn't have anything to do with stealing. Again, "intentionally" is a keyword here. |

I'm not sure if the community will take those Bitcoin or put in more.. But this should be posted in Games and Round or Meta. Not here.
Anyway, someone who dont have a Bitcointalk account can just steal you Bitcoin. This forums is not a private forums.
