People getting paid in sig campaigns have to always use the same signature address so the runners of the campaign can keep track and it's public. So I dont see any other solution for this than running these coins through mixers.

Personally, I would refuse to participate in a sig campaign that required me to re-use a bitcoin address for multiple transactions.

Come on! You can always move money from the account the campaign sends payment to...ideally to cold storage!

Just use a mixer mixer and a mixer 3-4 times. Problem solved. You could also deposit and withdraw from a gambling site.

How can you be sure the mixing service isn't a honey pot? And how do you know the gambling site (or a clever 3rd party) isn't fingerprinting every transaction?

I've seen a lot of suggestions for using very weak 3rd party solutions ITT but not a single trustless solution. I believe someone here (CIYAM?) is working on cross-chain atomic transactions that would effectively "scrub" links to past transactions, but that's in development (AFAIK).

True. This is why you need to trust the operator alot. They can just say they delete logs but they actually keep those. A smart idea is to deposit from the wallet and withdraw to another gambling site and withdraw to another gambling site or just withdraw to your wallet. The probability of both of the gambling site tracking you is fairly low. Blockchain analysis might give you away if you withdraw them all at once.

That's a good idea. Do you know/trust anyone that operates a gambling/mixing site, and what are the odds that they are truly indifferent or interested in protecting user privacy? I ask just to get a feel for the odds of success.

I'd guess that just due to the nature of the problem 75% of all of these sites are either intentional honeypots or actors that could not be trusted.

If that's accurate, then the probability of being successfully tracked through two mixers (two independent events) is:

(.75) * (.75) = .5625

And tracked through three mixers (few people would take the time to do this):

(.75) * (.75) * (.75) = .421875

Four mixers:

(.75) * (.75) * (.75) * (.75) = .3164

So after using four mixers/gambling sites you still only have a 68% chance of reasonable privacy.

It will. I don't think possum is understanding the difference between anonymity and security. Cold storage only promotes security, not anonymity. It actually allows your coins to be tracked.

Suppose I want to share my public key for donations, but the problem is everyone can see how many btc I have. Suppose I create a second account for donations but now people can see where all the btc goes from there and cunclude it's my address. How to share a public key and still hide my savings?
Use mixer it's simple as that (bitmixer.io)

The only online casino on which i won something. I made 17mBTC from 1mBTC in like 15 minutes.  This is not paid AD!

Use a reliable mixer then. Use taint analysis to ensure your Bitcoin is being mixed properly.

the transaction history of your deposit  or withdrawal address are still recorded in the BlockChain! Do you think you are lucky enough to see the used exchange crash in the near term?lol

OP, why do you want to hide the received fund in the donation address? If you run a charity, Red Cross, or other type of good cause campaign, doesn't it a good practice to make your donated fund and expenditure of it transparent which will attract more donors? Otherwise you just try to scoop as much money as possible from some indecent activities?

It's just my opinion! Probably it is off topic!

Do you guys even read the thread? OP is trying to hide his coin by increasing anonymity, not trying to have better security. And also, brainwallet has several vulnerabilities.

mixers are very probably safe. If you want to be safer, use two 3rd party websites then two different mixers.

welp, regardless, xmr.to now lets you pay XMR -> bitcoin address, and poloniex finally implemented a minimum mixin of 3 on their withdraws, so, in terms of blockchain privacy, a good route is now:

BTC ---exchange (poloniex)--> XMR ---xmr.to---> BTC address.

granted, there may be ip logging all along that route, but that can be avoided with due diligence (and eventually i2p will be baked in to monero)

Looks like a practical defense against all but the most serious adversaries (especially using i2p or TOR - and I'm always using TOR anyway). It's also simple and easy enough to do frequently, which is really the most important thing.

Definitely worth trying - thanks.
