Hi All,

I compiled the latest Github version (4.9.1) of the cgminer to start mining on my AntMiner U3.
Now I realized that ... well ... quite a lot of HW errors ar shown.

I use the following config:
Code:
cgminer --widescreen -o stratum+tcp://eu.eclipsemc.com:3333 -u my_worker -p 123456 --suggest-diff 10 --au3-freq 250 --au3-volt 830
... I took these settings from the Antminers user manual.
Well, after 10 min I already had 15 HW errors.

Question 1: Is that something I should be worried about ? What effect do such errors have after all ?
Question 2: What error is this "Hardware Error" ? Some calculation went wrong ? Device failure ?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Let the u3 run for at least 12 hour then check all parameter like accepted share, reject, hw. If the reject or hw too high, then try to lower the frequency.

Hi

... so I was sitting next to the Antmine when suddenly I heard this sound ... hmmm, hmmm, ewreeee, hmmm ...
a quick check of the /var/log/messages revealed that the USB port was making trouble and constantly trying to disconnect and reconnect.

As mentioned before, I've the device connected to a Banana-Pi wich eventually seem to have more power distribution problems than just the Harddrive.
So now I connected the Miner to my storrage system (AMD E450 running CentOS 7)

(Stats to be posted here in in couple of hours Wink )

So currently I only discourage you to use the Banan-Pi in combination with the Antminer U3 for stable mining  Undecided

EDIT: It's worse ... I now encounter the same USB errors on my other Linux Box ...

Code:

2% reject is high but still acceptable. Try to lower the setting.

Are you using usb hub? Try to use powered usb hub.

I also think 2% HW is normal for the U3 clocked at 250.

Try --au3-freq 225 if you want to test for less HW but given the ratio and accounting for the raw hashrate difference I don't think that it would give you better results at pool side.

You're running that thing near max specs, that's what's causing the errors.  Drop the voltage down to 800 (850 is max, and you're at max freq), which is still considered "high" for these units.
