so i tried to get mining setup and ready for flappycoins but the only miner i could get to work was cudaminer, at first i got an error saying out of memory.. im guessing my card sucks its an nvida geforce 9200 my hash is at 1.40 - 1.50 my question is is ther a way to get more cores running ? if i provide a pic can anyone help me out why does it say gpu 0:

i thought i had more cores? any help would be awesome sorry to be a burdin also em i just waisting my time trying to mine with big hardware??

Might post command you are using.

And most likely yes you are wasting time.  Most CPU/GPU coins you mine at a loss.   Asics have taken over regular scrypt coins.  The ones left just are hard for most part to make profit.

nvida geforce 9200
Shocked
The 9200 was an absolutely bleak card, even in the age gen 9000 cards were state of the art. It is a low-power, low-cost design, even by integrated GPU standards of the time (I think there was a 9120 which is even smaller). I'd say it's doing an awesome job considering its age!

is is ther a way to get more cores running ? if i provide a pic can anyone help me out why does it say gpu 0:
It's ok. It's the first GPU in your system, counting from 0. It's not the number of cores. As a side note, many computers equipped with such cards often feature a way more powerful processor. No, you cannot get more cores.

em i just waisting my time trying to mine with big small hardware?
(corrected that for you).
Yes. It's not even worth for learning purposes as the dynamics are screwed. Leaving aside that scrypt is dead for amateurs, you need to get at least 50x more performance. Those cards could be around 75 bucks but I honestly don't suggest to buy one and I don't think you can mount one anyway.

Mining speed of 1kh/s is extremely slow, a modern desktop GPU could easily beat that. The GPU is too old. AFAIK, Cudaminer automatically makes adjustment to achieve optimal hashrate. With cudaminer being the most efficient software for nvidia GPU, you can't get anymore hashrate other than that. Try buying a scrypt ASIC if you want to learn more about scrypt mining.

buy a new nvidia card like 750ti, they are very cheap, low consumption and very good hashrate

Very cheap for you enthusiasts maybe. For non-enthusiasts a cheap card is 50 bucks. Midrange 80, High-end 100, 120 if we want to go overkill. Not to mention always the same thing: if it's for mining, it's trashing money. If for learning, better to upgrade the whole system.

Your budget may barely be enough, you would need a new motherboard, psu,cpu etc. CPU plays a small part in mining so cpu speed doesn't matter unless you are mining using CPU. Buy the cheapest motherboard you can find which support your card and a cheap CPU.

whats a good card to mine scrypt with?

No card. Scrypt is dominated by ASICs, you won't get any reasonable results with a GPU. Try GPU friendly algos and coins (X11, X13, X15, Neoscrypt).

Flappycoin is a scrypt coin with low difficulty and network hashrate. So yes, with such coins you'll get your share. But with a price of 40-50 litoshi per FLAP, it's not really worth the used energy (unless you have free energy). The other algos are more energy efficient than scrypt.

Scrypt produces lots and lots of heat, it stresses your GPU a lot. Even with a new GPU, an ASIC would be a far more viable choice due to the decreasing price per MH. Might not be profitable unless you have close to free electricity and the company is trusted.

Link please. Here's what I can get for for 50 bucks from my favourite etailer: ASUS nVidia GeForce GT 730 903Mhz 1Gib GDDR3. 64 bit bus. That's sure going to be very similar in performance. No trace of those on amazon.co.uk, but I'm sure I suck at it.

Mining game is really out for everyone even if you invest in ASICs. There are huge farms using ASICs to mine Bitcoin. Even with new hardwares, it may become obsolete even before you ROI. Alt coins are relatively volatile so it wouldn't be a good choice too.
