I don't think any good altcoins have come out in 2015.  Ethereum is the only one that will be coming out.  Here are the ones I think have promise to do well in 2015:

Good possibilities:

TRI
Reason: Very low marketcap and has a couple of good devs.  One is working on a trading app that you will need TRI to use.

RDD - it's mostly on https://www.reddcointalk.org/ and somewhat on http://www.reddit.com/r/reddcoin/
Reason: Has somewhat decent distribution.  Devs haven't given up on it in over a year and have more features planned - Browser wallet, etc.

SYS
Reason: Has decent devs and could be actually useful.

and obviously Ethereum

Also possibilities:

VNL
Reason: One of the very few coins that is not a fork of bitcoin.  Claims to be VC backed.  I'm not entirely sure where this one is going, but it's one to look out for.

SSD
Reason: Very low market cap anon coin.  Uses steganography for anon.  The dev is very good, but I'm not certain how often he's working on the coin.

BLK
Reason: Has somewhat decent distribution.  Has decent devs that haven't given up.

I would say SYS was a big time fail.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Well, that's because your time horizon is insanely short.  They definitely made some HUGE errors early on, and people who bought the ICO are currently down considerably, but the devs are still working on the coin and attempting to build something.  Now, it certainly could be abandoned at some point in the future, but right now, the market cap is cheap compared to the potential.

We are still trying to figure out what the bright new altcoins of 2014 are.

I bought into the SYS ico originally. Had to sell off awhile back though when I lost my job and I was
selling off every altcoin I had to put food on the table. I'm back to getting a few small web dev and
SEO gigs here and there, which is good. Hopefully I'll be able to start investing in altcoins again soon.

I follow CasinoCoin. It has great branding with huge potential. Already more than 1,5 years old and still has active devs.

SuperCoin, TrustPlus, Gemz, Node and NEM. Also agree that CasinoCoin can be good in the future. Possibly even FedoraCoin just for the TIPS ticker, if they rebrand that coin away from a neckbeard association I'm sure it can skyrocket
