Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Someone on bitsharestalk said something about getting a DNS resolution error visiting bter. This is his post.

But earlier about on hour before this, i got an DNS resolution error, when visiting bter. Anyone knows what that means?

Let's wait for them to give out some information. Maybe they suspected a hack or something and closed it down. I don't have any coins there but I am really hoping that they come back and people get their funds back.

It seems that their cold wallet was drained of 7.3k BTC. It would be a major disaster for them if true, making the 50m NXT hack earlier look like peanuts.

The BTC cold wallet looks unlikely hacked. Just splitting...

7170 BTC got stolen from our cold wallet in this transaction:

720 BTC bounty for chasing it back.

All wallets have been shut down and withdrawals of unaffected coins will be arranged later.
