I also read /r/Bitcoin on reddit. Yeah I know, it can be an echo-chamber at times, but it's a quick and very easy way of keeping up to pace in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Reading the top comments is a very valuable thing, as well. There are often people calling out blatant mistakes of an article or a specific claim. That way you don't believe everything and the chamber gets a little less echo-y.

Bitcoin talk and rarely the Bitcoin subreddit, you will most things here before anywhere else though.

Yeah it surely is the quickest source, that's right. I think you shouldn't dismiss the subreddit that quickly - if you look at the comments, as well, it becomes a rather valuable source of information. The nonsense you can find elsewhere often gets muted out due to the voting system. Then again, you often don't hear constructive criticism, as well...

I check Coindesk daily first, then use Bitcointalk as a backstop to catch breaking news or more minor stuff. Lately I've also been checking out Cryptocoinnews more often as well.

Coindesk, Cointelegraph, Cryptocoinnews, NewsBTC are some of the sites I check out.

Either that or I just Google Bitcoin and make sure I click News right after.

Also, Twitter or Reddit sometimes, and of course Bitcointalk.

but also some lesser known sites, just to add some spice, such as

Youtube, twitter, http, rss, etc. aren't sources they're channels or mediums of media. They're ways to consume news but they don't create it. Sources would be Coinbuzz.com, Coindesk.com, which can be found on the web.

This place only.

If its a big news it is guaranteed to end up starting multiple threads. The last big one was Bter hack and there were some 20 threads throughout the forum. As for the smaller news goes, I am not interested.

Cryptocoinnews is a great site for all things crypto https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/ and of course for Bitcoin, the forum here is definitely one of the best, check here for important announcements https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=87.0
It's also a good idea to follow a few crypto centric Twitter accounts like @coindesk and @CoinTelegraph.

Well these days it seems that /r/bitcoin really become the go-to source for Bitcoin news. I think in such a decentralized environment it's stupid or dangerous to rely on centralized (and poentially paid!!!) 'news sites'
