I doubt that he has a backdoor in his script. I have seen many people uploading such scripts on github and I didn't find any backdoors in them. But who knows, people can check it before they payout.

Well, the thing is that you are not allowed to sell anything unless you are authorized* reseller/are owner of the thing. But a person who needs quick money can sell anything and everything for his profit. It may be not legit but its profitable to them.
