It has come to my attention that the marketplace trust ratings are not visible in the Beginners & Help (aka newbie) section.

Although commerce is not really suppose to take place there, a small amount of commerce does take place there prior to sales/buying threads get moved to the marketplace by moderators.

Additionally people who are actually new to bitcoin (and to the forum) will post newbie questions regarding things like security and private keys, and if a scammer were to give very poor advice (that would make it very easy for him to steal coins) in the newbie section then he may not be called out on it right away, as I don't think experienced members are heavily patrolling the newbie section to warn people against these kinds of things. We do have people like DannyHamilton who answer questions for newbies frequently however my impression is that he (nor others) would be able to quickly correct a scammer's bad advice.

As a result of the above, I would propose that the marketplace trust ratings would be viewable in the Beginners and Help section.

There is no real need to have the trust ratings displayed in the bitcoin discussion and similar sections because no commerce takes place there. Since you do not conduct business there there is no reason to need to know that someone is a scammer and pointing out that fact will only lead to distractions to conversations.

@Muhammed Zakir I'm not against having it always visible, but I don't know if it is very important on all boards lol.
How is trust important on off topic or politics and society for example?

Negative trust feedback aren't left only for scamming. Example : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=159191. This negative trust will be useful in Bitcoin Discussion.

I report if I see someone trying to scam newbies, like this one guy was asking help with his prvt keys and a member simply replied, "PM me", I realized his intentions were not to help but maybe try to get the newbie to reveal his prvt keys to him. His post got removed after I reported it but who knows he might have succeeded by then. So I agree with member's rating should display in beginners and help section also.

No i don't think so. If some want to exchange or wanted to send his/her money to some one he will go to currency exchange and alt exchange or if he wanted to provide/ buy a Service he will go to service section, and these all section show the trust rating. And newbie sections dont deal with these things then how some gets scammed by some one ?

they're saying that sometimes people try to buy and sell in the newb area. i'm guessing not all newbies know that there's a trading section, and might fall for some scams in the newbie section.

Agree that trust should show in the Beginners section and wouldn't be opposed to all boards showing it either.

There should be an on and off option for it. Like Post count...

The trust rating should be visible on every sub-forum in every section. But I would like to see option to turn it on and off in the profile panel for people who don't care about it.

I'm all for an option to turn trust ratings on and off. I would also think it would help some of our newbies out who dont know any better.

Same. I'm unsure as to the reasoning of why this isn't the case currently.

Even thought not every board is relevant ....trust does play a part in how the community views you. It should be viewed on all boards.

Trust is not only limited to buying and selling...it is also concerning lying or attempting to manipulate.
