i would rather just straight sell them, but i am essentially selling them to downgrade to 5870, 5850, 5830 for less price depreciation.  energy efficiency isnt much of a concern.  if a trade was good enough, i wouldn't mind doing that

cards have been used to mine close to 24/7 for the last 7 or 8 months or so.  i've never run them past the 1.05 stock voltage for perf level 3 (ed: original owner claims to have done so for a period of time, see below for url).  card 1 can do 840/150, 825/150, card 2 can do 845/150, 845/150, and card 3 can do 835/150, 835/150 at 1.05v.  afaik, they've never gone above 55oC (this is with ambient temp in room around 105oF, 40oC)

What kind of case is that rig in?  What kind of trade are you thinking?  6 5870 for 3 5970?

I need to keep the MB + case + PSU for the other cards.

And, actually, I'll just refer you to the original sale:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63300.msg740521

it was about 200mi each way.  It's the same thing, except more used.

and you should know by now that I wouldn't swap 5970's 2:1 for 5870's.  even WITHOUT the danger den water block on them.  I'm pretty sure those still sell for $50'ish by themselves on fleabay

answering some questions:

i don't have the original heat sink or fan for the card anymore, so you'd need to acquire those two separately if you weren't planning on setting up a water cooling system (ed: actually, i could provide a fan, but not the heat sink)

i can also sell the radiator and the other water cooling equipment

everything else not for sale, case, mobo, etc (unless maybe someone would make an offer for the entire system intact.  i'd have to drain it to ship and it'd have to be a really good offer though)

i also can't sell the danger den block separately, as that'd put me in the difficult situation of trying to sell a card w/o a heatsink

What sort of hash rate were you getting from these?

well, i never ran them past 1.05v... according to the original owner, he had them OC'ed past the stock voltage at one point or another and ran them at 950/300, there's a picture of it @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63300.msg740521  (down at the bottom)

he wasn't using optimum miner though, i switched over to phoenix after I got it.

the 845/150, 845/150 card @ 1.05v gets about 785-790mhash,  the others are a bit less (835/835 and 840/825).  i think you could actually go higher a little bit (maybe +5 core) on those settings, since I was using increments of 10 while testing and they've run stable for hundreds of hours at those settings.  i usually run that at night.   i run them all at 810/150 @ 1.01v during the day, though I'm 99% sure they're also stable at 815/150 (and some cards can probably go higher).  likewise, all 6 gpus are stable at 735/150 @ 0.99v, but they can all probably do 740/150, and some may be able to do higher than that

I could buy two without heat sink if it comes to that.

for how much?   i'd remove the water block and sell it separately, i guess.  i could ship the fan with the card

$500 (ed: which includes the shipping charge, was a bit ambiguous before) for both?

(though i'd wait at least a week for that, and maybe even try selling them on ebay, i duno)

so, i'm waiting to hear back from someone

and not much else happening

hence i shall bump this

w/ removing the danger den water block and selling the cards like that, i still won't go below $250/ea... and at $250 it would take some consideration

at least until i've had a crack at selling them on ebay for $350 or so intact

err, actually after checking ebay prices, i was way off.  a recent spate of buys at $400...  avg price more like $350 or so... probably would try $400 w/ block
