I'd say down. Even when I watched it crash to 160 recently I was calme about it and didn't think much of it (and no, I wasn't and still am not shorting).

With the US getting ready to sell off another 50k bitcoins confiscated from Silk Road anything could happen.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-02-18/u-s-to-hold-third-auction-of-bitcoins-seized-from-silk-road
Although the coins will be auctioned off and not just flooded onto the market, whoever wins the auction could have a bit of pull on the BTC price in the next few weeks.
They may be shorting the market and try sell off big enough lots to scare BTC holders into a panic sell or the BTC community may see 50k coins being snapped up and not re sold asap as a good thing, a bit like the bearwhale situation.

I'll be holding on for the ride, i don't have my life savings in bitcoin and most of what i have was bought in the $270-280 range so i don't mind watching the price swings, keeps life interesting.
Plus most of my btc is on paper wallets and it's just so much hassle getting it out, open hot wallet, scan barcode well that's it but i couldn't be bothered. Tongue

Short-term: I don't know. Mid-/Long-term: up. I'm a long-term bull, but accept that we're going through bear-phases regularly. That's just normal movement of BTC and nothing to worry about. Right now we're at a point were it's being decided where to go. And even though I think we could see lower prices once again, I believe we are headed upwards from here.

i think the p&d is not over yet, it should rise in a steady way, between one p&d and another, i'm skeptical about a "boom" big bubble or something

also no one say there should be a bubble, it could rise slowly until 1k again, while in the middle of all those mini-rise there could be plenty of p&d

Bitcoin prices may depend largely on market demand, the game of speculators, and may also by changes in the measures taken by each state to regulate the use of Bitcoin.

A Bitcoin prices may rise or fall suddenly without predictable in the short term, which is caused by the user or investor speculation. Like other high-risk assets, it is not recommended to save money nature reserves in case of emergency or emergency money in the form of Bitcoin.

Why does it have to be either up or down? I think it'll just remain relatively stable like it has done. I don't think it will go any lower because it is already so low. Who would even sell at such a dangerously low level?

With no news in sight the price will most likely be around current level.

I actually like the price to not go up or down by more than $10.

It seems to go from 210-220 to 240-250 in the last weeks, it may stay in that range.

We are still in bear mkt. of course. Falling downward from high price caused by imaginary money @ Gox.

Yeah, no.

We will see higher than $250.

We did see around 260, after which the BTER hack probably dropped the price by a bit.
But we are still rising again.

We have been averaging a rise of ~0.3%/Day for the last month. That is sustainable, but that doesn't mean it will be sustained. Cautious optimism is not out of line.

Looks like last hacks did not have too bad influence on Bitcoin price, rise is small but constant.
