Greece got themselves into this mess, and need to learn to take responsibility and fix their situation. Giving them bitcoin would not help them, only possibly delay the inevitable even more, plus they would most likely cash it all out and the fiat would disappear almost instantly. From what I have seen, a lot of people that get into debt and end up declaring bankruptcy to get a "clean slate/bailout" only end up going back into debt again and often end up in bankruptcy again.

IF Satoshi does still have access to most or all of these coins, with a purchasing power of $200-$1000 each, you have a lot of power you can use to make further changes to certain things in this word, like charities, research, science etc, but I would not want to donate or use these bitcoins until the ecosystem for bitcoin is finally established, so that those you send bitcoin to, continue to use it as bitcoin for purchases and expenses instead of cashing out.

Then like mentioned previously, if he ever got found out and it was confirmed he had a lot of coins still, he would be bombarded by beggars, scammers, threats etc. I for one hope he is never found, but still alive, and would like to see some of his coins used in the distant future for good.

this is from history. And the recent Greek loans was not go to save the Greeks but to save the Europe Banks because they has too many Greek govt bonds.

Greece should jail all those PASOK / ND criminals, who helped the European banks stole hundreds of billions of Euros from the Greek people. Satoshi's stash, even if it is worth $3 billion, represents less than 1% of the total Greek debt.

This would just make greece the country cash out instantly cause they need the money. Not good for the market unless you donate to each person individually.  Maybe thats what you meant.

Great idea for Greek but I don't see why this will be good idea either for us (bitcoin community) or Satoshi.
Their huge debts and now conflict with EU is because of their economic and political elite and this is mostly political issue in eU now.
Bitcoin should stay away of politics and support average man to become financial free.freed from ''big'' banks, government, politics etc.

There is a lot of theories , one of them he maybe lost his private keys and he is unable to access his BTC (unprobable since he is too smart for that) . Still ... Greece don't really deserve this donation , they aren't that poor . Africain countries who are dying deserve it .

I don't think Satoshi's keys are or have ever been in the hands of the sort of person who could just "lose" them.

However, there are good odds that the inventor of the "Satoshi" identity is the kind of person who could make a hard decision and delete them once and for all when he decided that job was over.

It's very simple; if you don't want to be tied to the identity, you have to make sure there's no evidence.  Not even in your own possession.  That means giving up the money and not taking credit for the work, but then I've seen no evidence whatsoever that "Satoshi" ever gave a crap about personally having the money, or for that matter the credit.

Both will be useless.

If you donate the money to Greece, it will constitute for less than 1% of the debt and will be insignificant.

If you use the money to build schools / hospitals in Africa, they will soon be destroyed in civil war. Even if they are not immediately destroyed, these institutions will never be able to recruit qualified staff.

I think that Satoshi was pay bey the germans to make bitcoin, why i think so, because Germany was the first country to accept Bitcoin like his own currency
