Mycellium, Coinbase, or Blockchain are all good options for mobile wallets. Just don't plan to store a huge amount there and do use 2 Factor Authentication.
Great for small amounts, like maybe petty spending cash, under $100 for certain. Always store the majority of your stash offline in a cold wallet.

Coinbase and Blockchain doesn't looks like a mobile wallet. -MZ

It's added back in when the devs email Google, was pretty much a misunderstanding. Even if it's unavailable on Google play, you can still get it by installing the apk.

download titanium backup(your phone must be rooted) to backup your app+data and then if you like upload it on gdrive for extra backup. Why so complicated? Mycelium have an option to backup, go to menu and you will find an option to backup. Clouds are unsafe as they can be easily hacked with a password.

Rooting your phone will destroy warranty and safety of your phone. If you have a malware, you will be in big danger as it can access to your root files. Don't do this unless you are testing and you know what you're doing. -MZ

Don't do this unless you are testing and you know what you're doing. -MZ Rooting can be a great help to phone enthusiasts and to those who want to make the most out of their mobiles. It's true that rooting voids out any warranty that a phone might have but not the safety of it, as long as you know what you're doing. You can still use your phone as a mobile wallet even if it's rooted provided that you make backups frequently and store the data on another hardware that isn't connected to the internet. In that way, you'll make sure that your coins are safe plus you get the most out of your phone.

my phone's warranty isn't voided by rooting actually they support it lol and about the safety you can install firewall and whitelist the apps which you want allow to access internet and blacklist all others apps. Why so complicated? Mycelium have an option to backup, go to menu and you will find an option to backup. Clouds are unsafe as they can be easily hacked with a password.
oh the app has backup option didn't knew about it thanks for letting me know. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Unfortunately, most warranty are voided once you do any modifications to it. Always read the terms and condition of the servicing center first, some of them do void warranty if you get your phone rooted. They have the rights to void the warranty.

the phone i'm talking about is oneplus one, they allow rooting/installing any roms you may like and phone's warranty isn't voided. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Why I told rooting depreciated is because most of the person doesn't know what they are doing and they end up pretty badly. If you go through XDA forum, you can find stories just like stories about 'lost BTC' here. I understood what you both told and I already added a line which tells it is no problem if a condition is met - see last line.
Back to the topic, I recommend GreenAddress(or GreenBits) or Andreas Shildbach's Bitcoin Wallet. Sorry if there is any typo.

That's why if you did the rooting method and you have some btc on that phone, also see on doing some backups and keep it in another hardware if ever you end up bricking your phone, you still have the back up and the bitcoins as well. Like what you said, I would definitely recommend Andreas Schildbach's Bitcoin Wallet. Not even a single problem since the first day I used it. Totally reliable. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

In my view, android is not a very safe platform for a wallet unless the android system has nothing installed and will not be used for anything other than storing bitcoin.
