https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5eBojcyd7U&feature=youtu.be

Just got video of it happening today. I had to talk gibberish for about 1 min for my brother to hear me.

I knew it was going to happen to me. So I went to sleep in his room so he could get video.

It happens to me when my brain is wide awake but my body is really tired (so it's hard to fall asleep.

I have it about 8x a month. Most times it lasts for more than 20 mins.

In a nutshell, sleep paralysis is when you are awake and you can't move, talk, nothing. It may look simple, but I am wide awake in the video and I cannot move at all. In my mind, I am seeing the room changing colors, while my eyes are actually closed. I hear weird noises, my heart rate goes up dramatically.

Other times, I have seen eyes stare at me, people talk to me, yelling, loud noises, extremely abstract shapes, Crazy shit.

Thought I would post here since I was rocking my "I accept BTC shirt" hehe

Here is another encounter caught on video:

I experienced it twice in my whole life in the house of my GrandMother's-GrandFather House. It is very old house at least 2 centuries old. There was one bed on that house that many of my cousins experience sleep paralysis.

There was a time when there is no other bed left I was force to sleep on the bed. Maybe less than an hour of lying I can still see the ceiling and hear my cousins talking. There was a dark like a human form holding my nick. I cannot move or talk at all. It takes maybe 10 minutes. What I do was try to move my index finger after that I can move all my body.

Believe it or not my second sleep paralysis happen that the same bed a year later the same dark human form that trying to choke me off. I only sleep that bed two times. I will never sleep again on that bed. I'm more than 30 years old now.

Well, I had it quite more than few times a sleep paralysis, and I searched on the internet at the time what it caused it.
It lastes more than a couple of seconds, like about couple of minutes.
the most pure situation is when you can open your eyes but you cannot move at all, only the eyes. Are we talking of the same stuff?
I experienced that many times, and the only trick I used to unlock my body is been close your eyes and wait for the body to be unleashed,

Yeah I get this quite often, though it used to happen very regularly (once or twice a week at least), now it's more like once every few months.

It's fucking weird, and really scary when it first happens, but now I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me anymore. At first, I would often have the "evil heavy presence" at the bottom of the bed and it feels like the presence is crawling up over you and suffocating you, you try and move your eyes as fast as you can to get someones attention (to try and wake you up) but the thing just keeps suffocating you more and more, it's not the nicest feeling in the world...

Nowadays it rarely has any dreamlike elements (evil presence etc.), it's just bog standard sleep paralysis where I know what's going on and I can normally wake up from it voluntarily - like the guy above me said, you just have to concentrate really hard on moving a finger/limb and then you can wake up. It feels like an inhuman amount of effort though, and sometimes it's just impossible.

Like the OP said, sleep paralysis is caused when a certain brain process malfunctions - basically your brain purposefully paralyses your body when you sleep (scientists think this may be to stop people injuring themselves by acting out their dreams). What's happening here is that the brain is paralyzing the body when it's not properly asleep - you may be half dreaming (explaining the ghostly presence/colour-changing rooms) or simply not asleep at all.

I think a lot of situations where people say they saw a ghost/felt a presence etc. can be explained by sleep disorders like this.

Paralysis ? I only see a person sleeping and being woken up here.

It's a video of me.

I am completely awake but I can't move. The whole time, I am seeing the room in strange colors and hearing weird noises. My heart rate is beating really quickly.

I am paralyzed. I can only make movements some times, I can't talk, I can't move my face and sometimes it is heard to breathe. If my brother had not heard me, I would have been stuck for at least 30 mins.

I have only experienced sleep paralyses some three or four times so far. The first time was the worst, as I had never heard of it before, and had no idea of what was going on - it involved all the usual stuff: me being unable to move; awake, but still seeing dream imagery; and thinking someone, or something, might be in the room with me. The following experiences were much less problematic: other than not being able to move for a little while, I had practically none of the other effects, fortunately.

However, none of my experiences with sleep paralyses lasted very long at all, at least as far as I'm aware: the first time, it may have lasted a couple of minutes at most; and the others almost certainly lasted less than a minute - I can't imagine what it must be like to be in that state for half an hour, and much less for over an hour, like the person in the second video you previously posted.

From what I know, the body is unleashed after 5 minutes max, 30 minutes would be too much even for a body, if your brain is working, that means it will tell to the body, "hey come on, he needs to wake up".

Interesting, I've never seen anything like that, but I've seen paralyzed people and It's the worst thing you can experience. Worse than death IMO.
I hope this condition of yours won't get more severe.
It's not an illness, it's just an unlink between body and mind.

Well, I'm mostly going by what joshv06 said, as well as by the second video he posted; but in that video, the guy clearly states she could remain in that state for over an hour. Now, I don't know how reliable that information is, but as far as I can tell, these aren't the usual sleep paralysis episodes most people experience; rather, they are probably linked to specific conditions: supposedly Cataplexy Induced Sleep Paralysis in that second video.

Then, there are also other conditions that could be related, like Recurrent Isolated Sleep Paralysis for example - the following is a brief excerpt from a site on the subject:

Although the occurrence of ISP [Isolated Sleep Paralysis] is relatively common, recurrent ISP (RISP) is a rarer variant of sleep paralysis characterized by frequent episodes or a complex of sequential episodes whose total duration may exceed 1 hour, and particularly by the range and sense of perceived reality of the subjective phenomena experienced during episodes.

I'd never heard of this before I moved to Japan. It seems to be quite common here and is typically attributed to some kind of spirit possession. It happened to me once and was very unnerving, although I don't think it had anything to do with spirits... Still, what I experienced was very strange and difficult to rationalize.
