Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I'm interested in picking up a 6970 (or maybe, just maybe 2), but would like a few more details before any commitment.

First, what manufacturer(s) are the 6970s?  I see that they are reference, but there are some manufacturers that I would put more faith in than others.

Second, how long have these been mining, and in what conditions (Ambient and core temps; I assume 24/7?; Any over/under clock?)?  A lot of that will be answered by looking at pictures, but some numbers are nice to look at, too.

Third, What is the cost to ship to, for example, Oklahoma City area?  (I'm sure others would like to know shipping rates and availability for other parts of the country/world)

And lastly, are the prices negotiable?

I'll be watching this thread, and I'll PM if my interest strengthens enough to merit a purchase.  I hope to do business with you!

Koooooj price includes shipping, I updated OP, thanks.  Had the 6970's less than 2 months, used from eBay.  They run Linux/cgminer 900/775 I 9 388 Mhash 70-74 C fans under 85%.  They are Diamond, I haven't tried to OC much more to keep temps without throttling.

I broke down and just used my credit account on newegg to get a new MSI Z77A-GD45 + Intel Celeron G440 single core 35W CPU and use some of my existing ramsticks I have laying around. But the info you gave is good for other buyers that may be interested.

actually, biostar might be better overall search for pci-e slots, searching for pci-e usually doesnt turn up anything with decent value.  you have to get ppl that dont know what theyre selling, i guess.

(ed2: avoid top rated sellers, or ppl with shops, haha)

oh, here's a 5830 for $75 with free shipping

Was a little concerned when I showed up this morning/noon and didnt see anyone, then checked the phone and had 2 messages, telling me that delivery was enroute. Constant communication throughout was STELLAR. Package was exactly as described! No complaints from the hardware, not to say that the guys were sloches, I will post again in a day or two and EXPLAIN that last comment.  For now, Deal is done and everyone is happy with what they got received.
