Get Live DVD here and burn to disk:

https://tails.boum.org/download/index.en.html

Reboot computer and click log in. Go to the programs menu and select >Internet>Electrum and pick new wallet

Ignore warning about "Persistence" as we don't want any digital copy anyways.

Write down the 12 words ON PAPER. Never back up the words on the computer or take a picture.

Copy down a few receive addresses for sending your BTC to and reboot.

Keep the list of words somewhere safe.

That's it. Very hard to screw up! Wink
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Those words really aren't that complicated if you can remember them

Even better, write down the master public key, restore from master public key (not seed) on your online PC. Now you have a watch-only wallet with the ability to see all of your receive addresses, keep track of your balances, and even create transactions for the cold wallet (or "paper wallet") to sign.. but you still need those twelve words in your secure OS to sign the transaction.

This signature intentionally left blank.
