I noticed today my Antminer S4 server has all dashes at the top ASIC, and the temperature is 0.

Chain # 1
ASIC # 40
Frequency 200
Temp 0
ASIC Status -------- -------- -------- -------- --------

The others have a string of "O"s as expected and the temperature (mid 40s).

Is this a hardware error, or is it related to the pool I am using (ghash.io)?

Please try power off the S4 and let it sit for a few minutes.  Then power it back on and see if it goes back to normal.

If not, you may have a damaged hashing PCB.  if you are located in USA, you can return the damaged hashing PCB for a replacement or you can return the whole unit for exchange.

If you are lucky to be in Colorado area, you can drop off the miner in person as well.
