After watching the CNN show it became clear how little the US Senators understand bitcoin... Manchin owes it to his constituents to know the real risks and rewards... he actually believes the Fed Reserve should be in control of bitcoin research  Huh
The Canadian Senate did not rush to judgement without at least listening to what Antonopolis had to say (ended up with a standing ovation).
Andreas could dispel a lot of these misconceptions (it's untraceable, higher security risk than Credit cards etc).
Make it happen...

I agree with you but it would take the likes of the heavyweights that recently backed Coinbase to insist that either the House or Senate Banking Cmtes allow Andreas to address them over this issue. Tho, the Fed Chairwoman Yellen already said it's not something that she/they could deal with/regulate which is why I suspect this is being left up to the states and primarily, the NY Financial Services outfit, to do the licensing for this genre and then allow other states to follow and copy. It's clear that the BTC related businesses/exchanges that want to go big of sorts and attract bigger money to achieve regulatory guidance from this outfit and its counterparts in every US state. I could be wrong but that seems like the way things have been going recently.

I am not sure what exactly this would achieve. Congress is not exactly hostile towards bitcoin, I would say that US laws are generally neutral towards it. Additionally there are several congressmen that tend to be interested in the technology.

I would highly doubt that congress would ever pass any kind of law that would force people to use and/or accept bitcoin

The only way to sway them is "voting" power and money.

The next time you vote for someone, find out if they support BTC and then make a donation in BTC to his/her efforts.

They are just there to implement the needs of the people that voted for them... if you make the use / adoption one of those needs, they would just need to support it.

Get the word out, and force the issue into discussion on higher levels.... If they can get something out of it, they will react positive towards it.

I don't think it would change anything. But if you can get Andreas a cameo in the new James Bond movie "Spectre" blabbing about Bitcoin with the new Q and James Bond, it might help the cause.
