As above, they can just state their dislike of something by commenting on it and giving their reasons which people will usually do. Having to add a comment kind of defeats the purpose of a simple like/dislike button anyway.

A person has to be in your trust network first to be able to make an impact on another person's trust ratings.

Default user trust list have many users. Even if you don't add DefaultTrust, other people who add it can see the feedback as trusted.

If a newbie posts trust feedbacks without references, then everyone will know that it's an obvious scam.

'Like' button is useful to avoid posts like '+1', 'thanks' etc... But people who dislike a post also post their reason AFAIK. So just 'like' button is fine.
