GENEVA (Reuters) - North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong said on Tuesday that his country had the power to deter an "ever-increasing nuclear threat" by the United States with a pre-emptive strike if necessary.
His rare speech at the U.N.-backed Conference on Disarmament drew a rebuke from U.S. Ambassador Robert Wood, who urged Pyongyang to stop making threats and rid itself of nuclear weapons.
Ri said joint military exercises currently being staged by South Korea and the United States were "unprecedentedly provocative in nature and have an especially high possibility of sparking off a war."
"The DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) cannot but bolster its nuclear deterrent capability to cope with the ever-increasing nuclear threat of the U.S.," he told the Geneva forum. "Now the DPRK has the power of deterring the U.S. and conducting a pre-emptive strike as well, if necessary." The US is about to start their annual war games with South Korea off the coast of North Korea so the North always try to throw there wait around when these games are going on. And Kim sure has a lot of weight to throw about, being the fat prick he is

Pretty much Kim's way of keeping the US routinely in NK news amongst the populace and keeping the military first Juche nonsense trending throughout the country while also showing his toughness to protect the homeland. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live over there, much less living outside of Pyongyang.

Why even post some non-news like this? NK is constantly annoying everybody, but there has never been caused severe harm to people outside the country.

It is their way of begging, they have always been doing this. Food aid deliveries to North Korea should never stop flowing.

How is that getting bad? North Korea does nothing beyond their habitual threatening rhetoric, which they have been doing for decades by now. The U.S. needs a bogey perfectly played by NK, North Korea needs an external enemy to keep their population busy and in constrain. Everyone is happy.

Throwing such threats to the US and South Korea is basically a part of the local political culture. Just like talking about freedom and democracy on the west. Sounds good and/or defiant, but nobody taking seriously .

Sounds good and/or defiant, but nobody taking seriously . Some news as of 2013: North Korea's threatening rhetoric has reached a fever pitch, but the Pentagon and the South Korean government have said it's nothing new.
"We have no indications at this point that it's anything more than warmongering rhetoric," a senior Washington Defense official said late Friday

Much needed reminder given the current obsession with IS and the like, that the craziest mofos in town are still the Koreans of the North. Beyond all dispute.

Do they take and kill hostages? Maybe, they are fighting with some country right now or sending terrorists to blow cities? Besides that, always remember that the only country that actually used nukes in military operation was the U.S.

Unlike the IS, NK is not on the western asset list, that's why they are demonized on every possible ways. (BTW they are a crazy bunch indeed, but not much more than some of the US hawks and surveillance freaks.)

has it occurred to you that they threaten you because you killed millions of them, occupy half their country, carry out war game simulated invasions one a year and point nuclear missiles at them?
|
Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

They threaten for food. If they start warmongering rhetoric, it is right about time the U.S. sent a humanitarian aid to NK. Again and again, as it happened before, many times already. The rules are simple, and both sides know them perfectly.

the dprk has raised itself up to become a powerful prosperous nation with nuclear arms and space satellites, it has no need for yankee goyim "aid", this isn't the 90s
