I am not sure, but couldn't it just be that the photo was taken on a holiday or the photo was taken sometime early morning ?
But wouldn't be surprising if they left. I just think, that they still can get into legal shit, if they did.

Aren't those old news a little bit ? Because the same day BTER got hacked of the ~7000 BTC , I heard that the staff simply walked away . they are "probably" (so we don't accuse people) involved on the hacking , wouldn't call it hacking since it's an inside job tho .

Yeah I guess , who knows maybe Coinbase was responsable for the hacks Bitsmap wouldn't be hacked too if they used Multi signature in the first place . But I guess they learned the lesson which is the important thing even if it's too late . If you ask me , Decentralized exchangers are the best . all of the others are bad for Bitcoin , they end up by getting hacked and all our real informations such ID & passport , resident etc ... can get leaked or sold or whatever . ~ Madness

But BTER chose to just come back and restart business like nothing ever happened.

Strangely the website is still online and the latest tweet says all alt coin withdrawals will be available in a week. They could legit, or be playing for time. Sorry for the long wait. We will solve the security issue completely and get all altcoins online and enable the withdrawals in a week.https://twitter.com/btercom/status/573043042329882624

This is why to never trust any exchange with your money. I've stopped using exchanges and started trading more on bitcointalk.org; the currency exchange section, and IRL.

IS BTER even maintaining their thread here? BTW where is it?
Any of our Chinese friends capable of checking out the status now? Since the re-opening announcement.

Latest news: Bter is re-opening their exchange, they said they have the new solution to ensure capital safety.
You guys who have fund there can log into Bter now and check your funds, it's possible to get your money back I guess.

were it an inside job?? I wonder why so many exchanges had been hacked? are their security the emperor's new suit? Amateurs build exchanges, that's why. Nearly all exchange had happened such as "hacked", even Mt.Gox, BTC-e, and Bitstamp were too, no matter some exchanges built by amateurs like Bter and MintPal. Whatever is it an inside job, the security with exchanges is bad extremely. So far, I just know that only LakeBTC didn't to be "hacked".
