It could be anywhere. It could happen at any time. I don't think that price will be the determining factor for these guys adopting Bitcoin but rather once there really is enough demand for them to accept it. How many of customers are asking for it?

Someone have to start it and then the others will follow.
I think that Google OR Microsoft will start first.
Microsoft already did about the XBOX payments, so Google will have to do something about it too.
So, I hope it's going to be soon.
About price - who knows and who can know? It can be any. From $250 to $2500.
Now, when it get adopted as a global payment (accepted worldwide), buyers (customers) will want it cheap, but by buying it in bulk/mass, price will go up, as it's logic.
On the other hand, we have miners who save coins and they will want to sell at good price, so when it starts to grow, many will sell some. So about the price, again - it can not be predicted anyhow.

Seriously, as huge as Google is I don't think it would be a massive deal. Who spends money on Google unless they accept btc for adverts or something but I'm guessing 99% of people who pay for advertising will just stick to fiat.

The biggie would be the upcoming android wallet thing. I agree with you though, there's no way I'd ever give google actual money for anything.

The big services are somehow all against Bitcoin
They dont want anonymous transactions etc, they are free because they want to get your informations

The banks & credit card companies have some serious lobbyists in their pocket.  I am sure they are manipulating bitcoin acceptance behind the scenes to protect their precious cash cow.

Honestly i dont believe they're scared of bitcoin the way u think they may be. For them its just a passing thing, until its proven to be otherwise.

I believe the main reason for big services to be against bitcoin is simply because their clients and bussines still have no major interest or profit from accepting bitcoin.
When you look at google and facebook, they're huge companies that have massive development departments of their own, bitcoin is nothing that would increase their value or volume of their bussinesses,
it would only allow them to take a hit if the project backfires on them.
Its not allways some conspiracy/lobbying at play, sometimes its just about lack of interes, or profit to justify a move like that.

cheers

I think it will take quite sometime till they accept bitcoin, though Google has suggested it might integrated in the GoogleWallet.
I'd say we'll be at 4 digits when that happens.

I don't think simply accepting bitcoins will raise its price, no matter which company does it. People wouldn't bother switching to bitcoin just because it can be used. The way for bitcoins to increase in usage and price is if there are many valuable services that EXCLUSIVELY use bitcoin, or at least offer a huge advantage to bitcoin users.

Acceptance is the easy part. Any company on earth can do that right now. The ones who count will be the ones who educate, incentivise and work towards a closed loop economy. there are a few doing it right, we need more.

That was mostly because the big retailers used to dump , and not hold much of the bitcoins. However if a site like facebook is able to integrate btc in their system to be used to send to friends etc, then that will not cause the dump.

Why would any company like facebook accept Bitcoin? I understand that we are convinced about Bitcoin here at this forum, but that is still very little and has no influence whatsoever on big companies accepting it. So what would be the incentives?

If enough of their users ask for it, they have nothing to lose by integrating it. They wouldn't have bought instagram otherwise. There's no particular reason for them to champion it so they'll probably be laggards but enough demand may bring it along eventually.

Facebook may not immediately dump it on the exchanges.

Facebook will create own Exchange website this will increase bit-coin price slightly
