I've heard that a large percentage of the Bitcoin community is in China.

Now, it does seem like there are quite a few Chinese people associated with cryptos. For example, there is Charles Lee who created Litecoin and his brother Bobby Lee who owns BTC China. There is also Bter which is located in China. The Chinese language board is also quite active here too, although strangely there are more Russians posting in the Russian board than Chinese in the Chinese board. It also seems that a lot of mining hashrate is located in China (link) and much of the trading that goes on in exchanges happens there too.

But looking at the list of names of people associated with Bitcoin, there doesn't seem to be many Chinese names at all:

It's worse than that! I don't see any Klingon names.

The current traffic situation would say that's accurate.

IMO, Chinese have high level of risk tolerance. They will go wherever can generate profit. There are a lot of them involving in Bitcoin mining business. Some big mining farms are still operating in China and remain anonimous!

Would somebody be so kind as to post a crop screenshot of such. I'm not doubting, just want to see what it looks like on an average user's page.

i think the chineese are mostly involved as a consumer or user of bitcoin rather than getting involved in technical development of cryptocurrencies. so only the large community which consists of trading, forums, mining etc.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Ok ,I might be wrong about the normal users on the forum, but head over to the altcoin section. You will find a lot of the QQ groups.

Everyone exaggerates the size of the Chinese BTC community. Compared to that in the US and Russia, the Bitcoin sphere in China is still in its infancy. They were latecomers, and it is almost impossible for them to catch up.

not really banned! Gov is just issuing the warning of involving BTC business and stop the direct payment processor channels to crypto exchanges. However they still have their ways to deposit fiat money to exchanges. Trading of cryptocurrencies are not banned. Do you notice some of biggest crypto exchanges are still existing in China, such as OKcoin, Huobi, Btcchina etc?

Due to the gov's warning and banning, the Chinese speculators dumped it at a loss and left. Even in the Chinese board, a bit quiet comparing when at the peak of 1200.

LOL, yes, common sense. But I need to state the truth. Comparing with western world, it has cheap labor and electricity here in China for doing the mining business.

Hmm not entirely sure about this but I think most of them left after the ath. Of course, after getting a lot of money way back 2013, there are no reasons for them to stay (well this is just an assumption though).

This might be the case too. The gov't of China's stance against bitcoin isn't exact. One day they plan to ban bitcoin and then the next day they will lift their decision. If you were the Chinese, you will find it difficult to move with that restrictions.

Damn, you're right. Just where ARE the Chinese? You never really see them when you leave the house. I guess the world just needs more Chinese ppl. Maybe give them incentives to reproduce more
