For me, short-term = No way.
Long-term == Yes, since I will eventually be needing much more than I have now.

Is money one of the three most important things in your life?

For me it is important, because this economy teach us that without money you can live. So we will need every day much money, it basically this : we live for the money. It suppose to be the contrary, but this is not the case.

Is money one of the three most important things in your life?

Yes, definitely. I may not be an example, but I couldn't live the way I do without money.
Besides, as I have traveled many times in third world countries (India and Africa) where I've met some people without any money, I sure don't want to live like them.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Well, money are just a tool. In a perfect reality you would not need money at all. People are just greedy by nature and do not understand that how good would be live without money, that is reason why communism failed. There will always some big greedy bastards who will do anything to be more important.

Wrong money does not reassure everyone just us who have been raised to worship money there are plenty of happy people around the world who live self sufficient happy lives without the need of paper.

Again you have it wrong just because you have money does not give you better chances it reduces your chances because you become dependent on something that has been created to control you.

We have indeed been bound by money and that is what is destroying us.

Is it that "we have been raised to worship money" or that we've been raised in a society that requires money to function?

If 20 of us lived on a private island somewhere money would be meaningless. But you can't very far in London or Paris or Shanghai without it.

Your logic is akin to saying we worship roads because we're forced to drive on them. Just because we use roads every day to get to where we need to go doesn't mean that we worship them.

I believe the question is more fundamental. Its like; would you rather live a fulfilled life with your family, living from paycheck to paycheck,
or have a stressful life without a family of your own, but with a lot of financial freedom?
In the end it all comes down to whats your preference, i would personally always choose family love and health over money, but still we cant live without it, so its reasonable to sacrifice part of time working to ensure those who you love have what they need to live a normal life.

cheers

It wouldn't be, if you could live without it. Since you can't, it's very important. Unfortunately.

It is but its not been my choice, if i had total control of society i wouldnt need money.  I think its better to view it as something you have no choice over rather then being a person who cares about money vs a person who doesnt care about money.

The place where you live matters. It's easier to live without money in rural India than in Beverly Hills.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Money is like blood. You need it circulating to stay operational. There've been phases where I've had nothing, and others where I've had plenty. I'm not sure my happiness level was any different, but the sense of reassurance is very powerful when you have some tucked away.

Agreed. Money reassures every human individual that he/she has better chances of living compared to those who have less or who have none. We cannot deny the fact that while we are living, we are bound to money, and we cannot live without it.

As you've said, we are bound with money. Isn't that enough reason to say that we are indeed reassured with greater living conditions because of the simple fact that everything you see and the basic necessities of life require money to have?

For me, money is not everything but without it there's also no point in life after all. Yeah it can't guarantee 100 percent happiness but least in today's rising cost of living where everything is measured how much money you own, it still makes a whole lot of difference. Those who were saying it's not important probably don't realize what they are taking about in the first place.

This. We are indeed bound with money. Admit it: you can't live without it. Even if you live in a private island with everything you need, still you are bound to go to the mainland once in every x weeks to get supplies, and the supplies you need requires money to acquire. So...

A farm is good nice healthy living and if you have a spring near by or a well you have very little need for money, but i am not lucky enough to have that privilege and i am trapped in the system but would much rather live in a cave with wolves or a farm and live from the land.. Even a shack in the woods> the newbies love shack Smiley

To answer your question i dislike money and it is nowhere near the most important thing in my life but i have no way to live without it because like i said i am trapped in the system as we all are so we are made to worship it and that is worth crying over Cry

Yes it is, but most people will say that since we are in a place, where people come to talk about money. It can give you almost anything you can think about, beginning with the basics like food and shelter and ending with a sense of security and accomplishment. Who wouldn't want  that?
3 things you need in life are: health, love and money.

yes and now.

Believe that health is first thing and happiness ass second.
Money comes later on.

Example you cant buy cure for cancer.
So basically health is prime.

For happiness if you dont have someone to share then you wont be needing any money.
Example is family wife and kids.

Is money one of the three most important things in your life?

I'd say it is one of the three most important things, but it's not the first but it is very vital to living comfortably.

yes and now.

Believe that health is first thing and happiness ass second.
Money comes later on.

Example you cant buy cure for cancer.

So basically health is prime.

Sometimes you might. If you can't afford cancer treatment then that money would come in handy.
