I'd love some stats on the geographic make up of the active folks on this forum. I've not seen the statistics compiled or shown anywhere else (and if they do exist, please feel free to point me in the right direction.)

We can learn a lot about each other by knowing how geographically diverse (or centered) the community is.

Thanks.

SE Europe here, i think most of our audience is from US, and asian teritories, but am also interested in what the poll will show.
You can take a look at alexa report, it will show you some basic statistics, but sadly not full informations, since its a paying service.

cheers

If I had to guess, I'd guess China. China has a LOT of people. Chinese people are all over these boards!

That might be true, but there is no way that many of them will come to this thread Wink

I'll spare you the effort, since I'm from Daedelia Planum (a "continent" on Mars).

Pffft, that's nothing. I'm from zz9 plural z alpha! You probably haven't heard of it, it's soooo underground and hipster and cool. Just like I am cool because I know what zz9 plural z alpha means.  Grin

If antarctica was there I would probably pick it since New Zealand is close and not in any of the available options Tongue .

Sorry mate, I'll make an edit to include Oceania (for Australia, NZ, and pacific islands).

I love New Zealand (only been once but it was fantastic). Very sorry to keep you out, thanks for calling me out.

@Possum577 Thanks, you even went for the option that includes most of the places left out Wink .

One day I am going to find the guy who teaches this stuff in school and point out that there are 4.5 million angry kiwi's after him.

I'm from South East Asia. I always thought that North America use Bitcoin more than Europe and it seem like I'm wrong.. or maybe North American dont like to use forums?

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

I am from the same distant planet as Satoshi. In order to protect his identity, I am not allowed to reveal the location or name of our home world.  Cheesy

That was a nice idea you came up with, asking bitcointalkers where they come from.  It will be interesting to see how well (or not) those who respond to you come from vs., say, hashing power (blockchain.info's mining pool stats).

Hey, that's a great idea. Let's compare the location of hashing power to this poll. Where do we find the hashing power source info on blockchain...is it relatively easy for me to find?
