Paypal hates Bitcoin.

That is actually far from the truth, paypal are taking bitcoin very seriously and are already making move to integrate it;-

I think they are just waiting to see how things go, using bitcoin could save them a ton of money and help them reach every single country around the world.  They do like bitcoin though:

many people believe that bitcoin should replace paypal, and we should be able to do all our purchases with bitcoin but i think the chargeback feature of paypal is sometimes a necessity.

Yes, I remember there was a news about PayPal and Bitcoin, a subcompany of PayPal accepted Bitcoin as a payment method, but it doesn't mean PayPal accepts Bitcoin too.

This integration has long been in discussion but i don't know why it has yet to be implemented. I think it's good for both sides paypal will benefit from btc users vice versa we want to be able to pay using btc at large marketplace where paypal is dominating. Hopefully we can see this become a reality by end of this year and if it does it's going to be a major boost for bitcoin adoption.

Mainly PayPal should not consider all the users of bitcoin as committing illegal activities and should let people exchange bitcoins for cash. It is not necessary that all only use bitcoins for gambling purposes. PayPal currently limits the accounts that are bitcoin related and except Virvox, all other transactions can get your account frozen.

I agree with you.
If PayPal and Bitcoin partner up, it will benefit both sides but paypal CEO may feel that they don't need BTC, because we are still ''small' comparing with them.
I hope that they will see ''bigger'' picture and understand great potential of BTC or someone else will replace them and accept bitcoin as partner.

Maybe the appropriate term is "integrate" and not "partner." Why would a big company "partner" up with a network of decentralized computers in the first place when they could simply adopt the system and use the currency as a payment option? If I'm not mistaken, they are into integrating bitcoin. Smiley

Chargeback protects the users against fraudulent transactions because if ever the seller got paid but never sent the money, the buyer from the other side would still retrieve his/her money.

Bitcoin doesn't need Paypal.

Paypal needs to adapt and pivot into the bitcoin space of they want to have any hope of being in business ten years from now.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

it would be nice if you could both buy and sell bitcoin in your paypal account or charge your account with bitcoin. although it is defeating the purpose of anonymity, i think it would be handy

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
