AML/KYC
They have become aware that you are lying about your identity. They cant risk doing business with you any more in case your laundering money or funding terrorism..
Its not optional for a US based exchange its the law
Read the damn post again, hes not lying about his identity. His email does not use his real name. Since when email is considered ID ? He already give them his ID to register his account, email is just a form of communication.
My email is
bigdick1010@gmail.com btw, i guess coinbase would be thrilled to see my ID
I doubt that would be a problem. But he said his email uses a different name to his actual one.
For example i have an gmail where im John Smith which is not my real name obviously.
When they get two different names for the same account do you think they can ignore it.
I hate the KYC/AML bullshit but its a fact of life if you in the US or deal with a US company.
If your going to use a fake identity (i prefer to with BTC stuff) make it consistent. That way they wont knowingly be ignoring KYC rules.
Register the email address in the same name as you do with the exchange and as on the "ID" you provide
