What is it you don't understand?
If the users can't set the prices, then where does Shapeshift get its exchange rates?
I don't understand where you got those prices.
Those are some of the prices I can set at Bittrex, or Cryptsy, or any other exchange. In other words, any price I want.
Shapeshift gets it's exchange rate from the exchanges it holds a buffer on, which it uses to execute your transfer.
So Shapeshift cannot change anything or put an end to the way other exchanges are run, because it won't work without those other exchanges.
More importantly, when the spread is .009 to .013, I can go to any normal exchange and easily sell for .012. With Shapeshift my only option is .009, and there's a lot of room between .009 and .013 for somebody to make a lot of money.
besides Unobtainium being a shitcoin with no volume
Yawn, 10btc per day, which is higher than some of the other coins listed at Shapeshift. Of course that doesn't include volume at Shapeshift, which has no charts or any other useful information.
But if you're saying Shapeshift lists shitcoins, and they only have 24 coins to choose from, then I'll take your word and not use Shapeshift.
