I'm very glad to see that CoinDesk has launched its CoinDesk Deals, which is a webstore with tech-related offers and deals.
The only thing that bugs me is the fact that the prices are stated in USD. Why not BTC?
I even think it's funny somehow.

Bitcoin payment is being worked on - switching payment providers is delaying it.

Funny indeed, they probably should have waited until "BTC accepted!" was a reality but at least they're working on it. One other speculation I had is that since Coindesk is the middle man in a transaction selling goods for companies that may not be as committed to the BTC community as Coindesk is. So Coindesk increases their currency exchange risk by selling in BTC but sourcing in Dollars.

It is not funny at all. Prices are stated in english just because bitcoin price changes all the time and it is too volatile to maintaining. USD is relatively stable currency and I did not see any fluctuations of USD at all (or at least not as big as bitcoin). It seems weird for bitcoin community but it is practical and I can understand their motives perfectly.

I want to buy a USB stick or something similar. The offers and giveaways looks nice. I think it will garner attention and most of all, customers and interest on bitcoin.

Present list of available products/deals is very small.  But their Giveaways are very cool.

Thanks for your response. That seems understandable. It just looked a bit funny to see no BTC price on the webpage of one of the biggest Bitcoin promoters out there.

I'm satisfied with the range of products and understand there are more offers to come. It's a pity that shipping works only within the US. Any plans on extending to international shipping?

Thought that was quite funny too, surely they had time before launching to get btc payments in place.

Besides... they only ship to Canada and States so that shuts out... well... most of the world really.

Coindesk accepting just USD here  Shocked Now that is just stupid but i have seen that a few times the last was a online shop selling bitcoin products but only accepted USD it's laughable to even think they would bother!?

Is it not easier to accept Bitcoin anyway why the wait and why start a Bitcoin business in USD it is beyond me it really is lol
