PHP dude here too.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I speak PHP: What once was a fun hobby is now something more.

Edit: I love to learn. Could someone please point me to a thread with a solution for faster Bitcoin verifications? Not Mybitcoin or Mt Gox Api; Is there a solution for "real-time" (or at least faster) verifications?

If Yes, please help teach me.
If No, How are we supposed to develop eCommerce and bCommerce sites?

I'd consider PHP my bread and butter language as well, now taking a liking to Node.js for certain applications.

With all the Venture Capitalists combing these pages, I decided to start a resume trove for them to find people for their projects. Make sure you guys get your info posted there if you would consider making bitcoin software development your day job.

I used to write php apps to breakdown and improve strategies for turn based games.

But it has been more than a decade since I've touched it.

With recent trends toward dynamic pages and html5.

And more recently web3, meta and defi.

Is there still a good niche for php development?

This thread is a good resource if some of those old-timers are still active, and I was curious about your question, "Is there still a good niche for php development?"

source = https://www.quora.com/Is-PHP-still-relevant-to-build-websites-in-2023

Yes, PHP is still relevant for building websites in 2023. Despite the emergence of new programming languages and frameworks, PHP remains one of the most widely used and popular choices for web development. Here are some reasons why PHP continues to be relevant:

Large and Active Community: PHP has a vast and active community of developers worldwide. This means there is extensive documentation, resources, and support available for PHP development. The community continuously contributes to the improvement and evolution of the language.
Extensive Frameworks and Libraries: PHP offers a wide range of frameworks and libraries that simplify web development tasks. Popular PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, and CodeIgniter provide robust features for building scalable and secure web applications. These frameworks follow best practices, provide efficient routing, database abstraction, and handle various aspects of web development.
Scalability and Performance: PHP is known for its scalability and performance. It can handle high-traffic websites and has built-in mechanisms like caching, opcode caching, and data optimization techniques to enhance performance. With proper coding practices and optimization strategies, PHP can deliver fast and efficient web applications.
Ecosystem and Integration: PHP has a rich ecosystem with numerous third-party packages and integrations. It integrates well with various databases, web servers, and platforms, making it versatile for building different types of websites and applications....

Not exactly about a "niche", but it shows PHP is still very popular.
